A new updated version of the VIA Hyperion Pro drivers are now available.
The package contains the following drivers:
INF Driver V2.80A
AGP Driver V4.60A
VIA PATA/SATA IDE Driver Package V1.40A
VIA V-RAID Driver V5.30C, RAID Tools V5.30
Only the INF driver and the AGP driver have changed from the previous
version.
The package supports the following operating systems: Windows 2000,
Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT4, Windows XP, Windows XP 64Bit

ATI's Upcoming Chipset to be Dubbed 3200

ATI's upcoming X16 chipset is going to be called the XPress 3200 according to the InqWell.
The 3200 number is there because the chipset features 32 lanes for dual PCIe 16X graphic cards and the rest of the name is logical.
Motherboard manufacturers are making these boards as we speak and there should be some retail boards at launch time. The boards are scheduled for a double jeopardy launch with the new graphic chip R580, known as Radeon X1900XTX.

Firing Squad has cornered NVIDIA's chipset guru, Drew Henry, in an attempt to get more information on the recently announced acquisition of ULi by the green giant.
If I was forced to speculate, I would suggest mobile chipsets and SATA-II. Although NVIDIA offers nForce3 mobile chipsets, they've been unusually quiet for the last few years. From this interview, we now know that 2006 will be the year that NVIDIA will return to the mobile market in greater force.

Well, this is certainly going to be a smack in the face to ATI's hopes in the chipset market. NVIDIA is set to take over ULI's chipset business next year and that is nothing but bad news for the big red machine.
