A Singular Product...

While NVIDIA may not be taking SLI for the AMD market seriously anymore, luckily their partner MSI is. The positive press around Intel's P55 chipset and LGA 1156 platform has been all the rage and the accolades keep coming right into the holidays. Gigabyte was kind enough to send us their flagship P55 motherboard -- the P55-UD6. This particular board doesn't support USB 3.0 or SATA 6GB/s like some of its newer brethren, but it does have many overclocking and enthusiast-level features that should catch consumer's attention during the holiday season.

P55s are getting cheaper already

MSI is next on the list of companies that have sent us P55 motherboards in preparation for the upcoming Lynnfield processor launch. The P55-GD65 isn't the highest end offering from the company but it packs a lot of punch for a sub-$160 motherboard due out in just a matter of days!

Scores of ATX and micro ATX motherboards sporting the 785G chipset have drenched the market, and most are available for under $100. One company who jumped on the 785G bandwagon was ECS, who sent us one of their first A785GM-M Black Series motherboards to review. This particular board has many features that used to be reserved for higher-end ATX boards like support for AMD 140w processors, AMD Hybrid Crossfire technology, and DirectX 10.1 capabilities.

The P7P55D Premium

Continual Improvement

AMD's latest broadside in the integrated graphics war may not be over the top, but it certainly adds a lot of zing to a relatively boring market. You still can't play Crysis with it, but users will be pleasantly surprised by the total package offered by the 785G.

Good Things, Small Packages, Cliche Cliche

FedEX has been busy as of late delivering to my house, and today I received a gem from them. This micro-ATX motherboard based on the unreleased AMD 785G chipset is a shockingly complete motherboard with many high end components. Stuff usually relegated to full size ATX boards. Will this be the latest power-user micro-ATX board, and furthermore be the board of choice for HTPC users? More testing is needed to confirm that, but the first look is certainly impressive.

A quick preview of this fall
