If there was a single motherboard company that I could pick out as being the surprise of the year 2001, it would certainly be Iwill. In February of 2001, Amdmb.com first took a look at Iwill with their first hit release, the Iwill KK266 motherboard that was based on the VIA KT133A chipset. This board took the overclocking world by storm and quickly became the favorite of many hardcore PC enthusiasts.


Throughout the rest of the year, Iwill released several more motherboard based on VIA and ALi motherboard chipsets. The VIA chipset boards followed the KK266 line name and the ALi boards took the title of the KA266.


Iwill has shifted gears at the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002, by releasing the Iwill XP333 motherboard in both RAID and non-RAID forms. This board is Iwill's attempt at creating the perfect enthusiast and overclocker board on the market. They had the experience and know-how to get it done, but was their goal met?
