FutureMark Corporation’s 3DMark 11 is a reliable test for determining a system’s performance in DirectX 11 type games. The benchmark measures both graphics-based and PhysX-based system capabilities. The benchmark tests were run three times with the highest reproducible 3DMark scores recorded.

The Z77X-UP7 fell slightly behind the other board in most cases making up ground in the CPU-intensive PhysX-based tests.

Hitman: Absolution Benchmark

The in-game benchmark utility in Hitman: Absolution gives a real-world approximation of how well a system will perform in a DirectX 11-based game. The benchmark test was run at a 1920x1080 resolution with all graphics settings set to High, On, or Normal with the following exceptions: MSAA 4x and Anisotropic Filtering 8x. The benchmark tests were run three times with the highest reproducible FPS scores recorded.

In this intensive DX11-based game, the Z77X-UP7 easily matches performance with it rival.

Batman: Arkham City Benchmark

The in-game benchmark utility in Batman: Arkham City gives a real-world approximation of how well a system will perform in a DirectX 11-based game. The benchmark test was run at a 1920x1080 resolution with all graphics settings set to High or On with the following exceptions: FXAA High, DX11 enabled, PhysX disabled. The benchmark tests were run three times with the highest reproducible FPS scores recorded.

Again, there is no performance difference between the Z77X-UP7 and its competitor.

Hard Reset Benchmark

The in-game benchmark utility in Hard Reset gives a real-world approximation of how well a system will perform in a DirectX 9c-based game. The game engine was heavily modified by Flying Wild Hog studios to give DirectX 11-like graphical and PhysX abilities. The benchmark test was run at a 1920x1080 resolution with all graphics settings set to High or On with the following exceptions: FSAA 4x, Anisotropic Filtering 8x, PhysX at Default. The benchmark tests were run three times with the highest reproducible FPS scores recorded.

The Z77X-UP7 continues to show its mettle with strong performance in this real-world gaming benchmark.

No.

Contrary to popular beleif, Mini PCI-E cards are dual mode and support PCI AND USB

On combo WiFi/BT Cards such as this Atheros and Intel Centrino, Bluetooth is routed to the USB pins of the mini PCIE (the small end)as Bluetooth is designed for USB drivers/software only.

Inserting a combo card into a slot wired for PCI only will simply just not enable the Bluetooth.

Some Mini to full Carrier cards such as the one included with this board have a USB port to fully enable the Mini PCIE slot.

Some carrier cards such as generics or Intel's 6205 Desktop card do not pass USB through and as such cannnot use Bluetooth or 3G cards.

Mini PCIE WWAN/3G are also USB only due to the driver/softwre stack.

Getting mSATA to work in a Mini PCIE slot is anothr matter, and some new laptops have a fully universal slot, some motherboards dont. One can see a Marvel IC in the periphery of this boards mSATA.

Why does every motherboard bundled software have glossy, flashy and badly skinned UI? Can't anyone make clean, readable and aesthetically pleasing UI? Is it just me?
