I can remember saying to Ron just a few weeks ago, that I was worried because I had run out of KT333 motherboards to review and write about. Opened a can of worms, I have.


The Epox 8K3A motherboard is based on this VIA KT333 chipset and has actually been in use here at Amdmb.com for a little while, in particular on our recent PC3000 Memory comparison. We chose the Epox board because it was one of the first to offer a full feature set for overclocking the processor and memory.


Epox has been very aggressive on their promotion and advertising and it seems that every chance that Epox has to release a new motherboard, they are doing so. With every new chipset from VIA and AMD, Epox has produced a new product including the Epox 8K7A based on the AMD-760 chipset and the Epox 8KHA series based on the KT266/A chipsets.


This time, the 8K3A series of motherboards, available in both a standard and a plus model, comes based on the KT333 chipset. The plus model simply offers an additional IDE RAID controller that gives the board an additional two IDE channels.
