Introduction

This content was originally featured on Amdmb.com and has been converted to PC Perspective's website. Some color changes and flaws may appear.

Asus’ name has meant quality and power for as long as I can remember working in the market that I do. Their reach goes far from the world of the Athlon, but the AMD-based motherboards are our obvious target at this site. In fact, Amdmb.com was originally based solely one motherboard, the (in) famous K7M ( and thereby K7M.COM ). Asus has come a long way from those days of buggy and unsupported Athlon boards, but maybe not long enough for some. No one, however, can argue with the name of Asus and the notion that it symbolizes a stable, fast and feature-filled platform of products.

It is good to note that Asus is jumping on the latest AMD products than it once was. It took several months for the manufacturer to put out an AMD 750 chipset motherboard, and also a while longer than most to put out a KX133 chipset board. With the latest chipset from VIA, the KT133A, Asus was right there, and is out of starting block early, but not first. Also, Asus has upped their support and promotion of AMD motherboards, finally putting them in the spotlight on their web pages and have some good / adequate online documentation and FAQs.

The A7V133 sports some nice features, including overclocking abilities and RAID. But before we get into the details, lets take a look at the specifications:
