The ROG G73Jh Gaming Notebook
While not as flashy and trendy as the new Bang & Olufsen NX90Jq notebook on the previous page, the Republic of Gamers team has created a very nice new notebook offering the mobile gamer. The G73Jh offers a ton of performance in somewhat smaller package but still has some great looks to go along with it.
Apparently inspired by the stealth fighter jet, the G73Jh has some sharp angles and matte black exterior that looks pretty nice.
The cooling system has a unique design that pulls air in from the front of the system and exhausts it out the back via two ducts that apparently will help to reduce noise as well as keep the keyboard and palms rests cooler even with all that gaming hardware in there.
The keyboard is angled down towards the user more than normal (about 5 degrees) that has the goal of reducing discomfort over long gaming sessions.
Here you can see the rear venting design and some of the other features of hte G73 notebook that include an LED backlit keyboard, 1080p display, EAX 4.0 audio support and even the new Radeon HD 5870 mobility graphics solution.
The HD 5870 graphics core should be the fastest mobile GPU available when it is finally announced later this week (we have a preview article ready to go) and the 17.3-in screen with its 1920x1080 resolution will complement it well. With an 8-cell battery the machine weighs about 7.5 lbs so obviously this not a portable travel machine but for taking to your friends house for some late night LAN gaming, it will do the trick. The chances are, your system will be faster than his desktop!
I am also going to try and get some additional footage of this machine and will update the article when it is ready!
