Stock Performance - Everest 2006

We will now look at the performance of the Corsair XMS2 8500 using Everest which performs three key tests: copy, read, and write. The results of these tests typically don't tell us much but are useful for pointing out unusual or exceptional behaviour.

At stock speeds the XMS2 8500 performs identically to the XMS2 8000UL which shouldn't really be a surprise. At tighter timings of 3-2-3-6 the XMS2 8500 would not POST in the system, but had no problems at 3-3-3-9.

The Gigabyte GA-G1975X does slightly better than the Asus P5WD2 thanks to the Intel 975X chipset. The difference is marginal, but quantifiable nonetheless.
