The MSI Ti4800SE-VTD8X video card.

NVIDIA announced the GeForce 4 series videocard over 1 year ago on February 6, 2002. Initially GF4 cards came in four major variations: 440MX, Ti4200, Ti4400, and Ti4600. After a few months of release the Ti4400 was made obsolete by cheaper Ti4200 cards and faster Ti4600s. Eventually Ti4400s slowly disappeared from retail shelves since the demand for them dropped in favour for its siblings. Fast forward to the present. Today we are looking at a Ti4800SE card manufactured by MSI. This videocard, as with all Ti4800SE videocards, is essentially a Ti4400 with one major change: it supports 8x AGP instead of the 4x AGP seen on the older Ti4400.

With a videocard introduced so late in the product cycle and with so many other options on the market, why is this particular videocard worthy of a look, no less worthy of your hard-earned money? Today we will put the MSI Ti4800SE-VTD8X through its paces and examine all aspects of it in great detail. Our objective is to explore its limits and find out where this product should fall on your shopping list. As we will soon find out, not everything is perfect with the MSI Ti4800SE-VTD8X. How will this affect you? Read on!
