Testing Methodology and System Setup

GPU-Z shows our Galaxy card running at 700 MHz core, 924 MHz memory and 1400 MHz shader speeds




Our testing today will fall under two categories: the obvious and the not-so-obvious.  First the obvious: we will be comparing the Galaxy GTX 460 GC 1GB card to the reference GTX 460 to see what of performance deltas exist with the overclocked settings on the retail card.  

What might be more interesting is our secondary comparison where we used a pair of Galaxy GTX 460 1GB cards in SLI and evaluate how they compare to a single GeForce GTX 480 1.5GB card.  The reason this is compelling is because of the pricing and feature debate it creates: you can get two 1GB GTX 460 cards for about $460 and you can pick up a basic GTX 480 for just about the same price, maybe a few bucks more.  Also consider that with the SLI GTX 460s you can run NVIDIA Surround where as you can NOT with a single GTX 480.  
Should be interesting!  Here is the test setup for our review:

  • ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution X58 + nForce 200
  • Intel Core i7-965 @ 3.33 GHz
  • 3 x 2GB Corsair DDR3-1333 MHz
  • Intel X25-M G2 160GB SSD
  • PC Power and Cooling 1200w Turbo Cool PSU
  • NVIDIA Driver version: 258.96
  • ATI Driver version: 10.6 + CrossFire X update

someone should help me out i dont remember my stock voltage and windows had a fit and i lost everything and i feel like the voltage was lower before after new windows its at 0.9750

installed skyrim 40-50 fps veryhigh
anyway windows is still freezing after long game play so id like the help thanks
