The BFG 8600 GTS OC2 ThermoIntelligence

Quickly we will take a more detailed look at the new BFG 8600 GTS OC2 ThermoIntelligence card.

The new cooler is seen here and you see that it is still just a one slot cooling solution so you don't have to worry about the custom cooler taking up two slots on your motherboard.

The BFG 8600 GTS OC2 ThermoIntelligence card features the same dual dual-link DVI ports and a single HDTV output plug to be used with the included dongle.

The card still requires the same PCIe power connector that the original 8600 GTS card does.  Also note the fins under the heatsink shroud towards the top of this picture: they are much thinner and denser than those seen on the reference cooler and are what gives the new cooler its extra surface area for improved thermals.

Both BFG 8600 GTS cards are pictured here with original BFG 8600 GTS OC we reviewed in April.  The PCBs look pretty much the same with the exception of color and some minor componentry.

The extras included in the box with the new ThermoIntelligence model mirror the standard card as well: instructions and driver CD (though visiting NVIDIA.com for the latest is always recommended), two DVI-to-VGA adaptors, power adaptor and HDTV output dongle are included.
