VIA Apollo KT266A Chipset Review

I’ll be the first to admit that the launch of the KT266A chipset from VIA kind of jumped out at me. With all the excitement of our past reviews such as the AMD-760 MP chipset and the Tyan Thunder K7 and Tiger MP motherboards, the release snuck up on us. And while the AMD community may be in a buzz about the dual-processor news that is circulating, I think you will find that this new chipset will certainly turn that tide.

The KT266A chipset is a revision of the KT266 chipset, much in the same way that the new ALi MAGiK revision will be. The numbers we will show you today in this review are very impressive and ALi, SiS and AMD will have a difficult time catching them.
