SilverStone ST45SF-G 450W SFX Form Factor PSU Review
A Detailed Look at the ST45SF-G PSU
The enclosure features a nice black matte finish and measures 125mm W, 63.5mm H, and 100mm D. The rear panel features a standard AC power cord receptacle but with no main power On-Off switch (another slight change from the original ST45SF Bronze model).
The SilverStone ST45SF-G PSU uses a single 80mm Young Lin Tech Co. Ltd. fan (DFB801512H), which blows air into the PSU for cooling and is rated for 2W at 12V.
The ST45SF-G PSU comes with a basic set of all modular cables, which are sleeved up to the first connector. Note: the cables are intentionally short to help reduce clutter in a SFF enclosure but this could be a problem if you elect to use this PSU in a larger ATX case.
(1) ATX 24-pin
(1) ATX 12V 4-pin (4+4-pin EPS12V)
(2) 6-pin PCI-E and one 8-pin PCI-E
(2) 4-pin Molex with (1) 4-pin FDD
Here are a few more pictures showing the layout and components inside the SilverStone ST45SF-G PSU. The overall layout, build quality and component selection appears to be very good with the primary capacitor (330uF, 450V, 105°C) coming from Panasonic and a mix of electrolytic and solid polymer caps on the secondary side from Nippon Chemi-Con.
