Introduction and Features

The SilverStone OP750 power supply is targeted towards gamers and power users who want a compact power supply with a single, powerful +12V rail and connectors that support the latest video cards.

SilverStone Technology, Inc. continues to expand their PC power supply offerings with the introduction of the Decathlon and Olympia series power supply units.  Both the Decathlon and Olympia series are enthusiast power supplies ranging from 650W up to 1200W (coming soon).  The Decathlon series features all modular cables while the Olympia series offers a more compact enclosure, but with hard-wired cables.  The Olympia OP750 we have in for review features a single +12V rail that can deliver up to 60A (720W).  The Olympia OP750 is housed in a compact enclosure and cooled by a quiet 120mm fan and features both 8-pin and 6-pin PCI-E connectors to support the latest video cards.

Establishing an accurate load is critical to testing and evaluating a PC power supply.  PCPerspective’s power supply test bench can place a precise 2,000 watt DC load on the PSU under test.  Each power supply is tested under controlled, real-world conditions up to its maximum rated load (at 40ºC), using both 115 VAC and 240 VAC line voltage.  Our current suite of tests includes:

  • DC Load Regulation
  • DC Line Regulation
  • DC Cross-load (unbalanced load)
  • AC Ripple and Noise
  • Power Factor
  • Efficiency
  • Differential Temperature
  • Noise
  • Size and Weight
