Introduction and Features

The EVO 1,250W PSU delivers a lot of power with good regulation, good efficiency, and plenty of cables/connectors. This monster is about as big as you will be able to operate from a standard 120 VAC, 15A residential circuit in NA.

The king of the hill in Enermax’s new PSU lineup is their Galaxy EVO 1,250W unit that picks up where the Revolution85+ series left off (Revolution 85+ 850W, 950W and 1050W).  That extra 200W results in an additional 17A spread out across six +12V outputs.  Otherwise the Galaxy EVO 1,250W PSU is virtually identical to the Revolution85+ 1,050W PSU and offers numerous features targeted towards high-end gaming system and workstation owners.  The Enermax Galaxy EVO 1,250W PSU comes with an excellent selection of both fixed and modular cables with a wealth of connectors to support all the latest hardware.

PSU Testing Methodology

Establishing an accurate load is critical to testing and evaluating a PC power supply.  PCPerspective’s power supply test bench can place a precise 2,000 watt DC load on the PSU under test.  Each power supply is tested under controlled, real-world conditions up to its maximum rated load, using both 115 VAC and 240 VAC line voltage.  Our current suite of tests includes:

•    DC Load Regulation
•    DC Line Regulation
•    DC Cross-load (unbalanced load)
•    AC Ripple and Noise
•    Power Factor
•    Efficiency
•    Differential Temperature
•    Noise
