Introduction, Features, Technical Specifications

After the buzz and success generated from the H50 last year, Corsair took note of consumer feedback (and hardware reviewers) for a push-pull fan configuration and made it one of the key features on their new H70 CPU cooler. This configuration, combined with other optimizations by Corsair, should make the H70 stand out again as a top self-contained CPU water cooling system.

Corsair has made huge strides as a company this year and the expansion of their product lineup has really shaken up the power supply, CPU cooling, SSD, system memory, PC enclosure, and audio industries.

The H70 has several upgrades from the original H50 like doubling the size of the radiator, creating a custom, low-profile pump, and increasing the size of the copper cold plate for increased cooling performance. They still included support for all the latest CPU socket types, including LGA 1366, LGA 1156, LGA 775 as well as AM2 and AM3 processors from AMD.

Since the H70 was released in August, reviews have been mixed about the H70’s performance over the H50 and other self-contained CPU watercooling systems. The results should be interesting as we move from an open-air test bench to a closed case configuration with multiple fans for optimal airflow. Hopefully a real-world testing environment will give us more credible results that our readers can use to help them make their purchasing decisions.
