A Detailed Look
The Dark Power Pro 10 850W power supply features a two-tone black matte and black chrome finish with rubberized end caps that help isolate noise and vibration. The housing measures 190mm+ (7.6”) deep.
The backside panel features an open grill and includes a power receptacle and master On-Off switch. The honey comb grill allows air to exhaust out of the power supply for cooling the internal components with minimal turbulence and noise.
The Dark Power Pro 10 850W uses a custom designed 135mm SilentWings fan (BQT T13525-XF20) that incorporates advanced fluid dynamic bearings with a copper core to provide reduced operating noise and long life. The 7 sculptured blades are designed to optimize airflow and reduce noise generating fan turbulence. The SilentWings fan is rated for up to 0.38A at 12 VDC and 2,000 rpm. The fan also features a high quality IC motor speed controller to reduce electrical noise.
The Dark Power Pro 10 850W power supply is fully modular except for the main 24-pin ATX connector cable and comes with an excellent assortment of modular cables/connectors. All of the cables are covered with black, braided plastic mesh sleeving.

In addition to the ten standard modular power supply cables, note the five extra sockets on the left side of the front panel. The four 2-pin black sockets allow connecting four case fans directly to the power supply, which then controls the speed of the case fans with the same fan profile used for the internal SilentWings fan – pretty cool.
The lone 3-pin white socket labeled OCK is used to set the power supply to either single or multi +12V rail mode. With nothing connected, the power supply will operate in multi-rail mode (+12V1, +12V2, +12V3 and +12V4). Plugging in the small jumper or connecting the PCI bracket mounted switch (and turning it on) will disable the individual +12V rail OCP circuits and enable single rail mode.
Caution: Only connect the jumper/OCK switch or change switch position (On-Off) when the power supply is turned Off. Don’t switch modes when the power supply is running.
