Arkua ThermoTurbo 6228 HSF Review
Numbers and Comparisons
This content was originally featured on Amdmb.com and has been converted to PC Perspective's website. Some color changes and flaws may appear. How did the Arkua 6228 perform??? The numbers below indicate that it did not dethrone our current champion, but it did come oh so very close!!!
The comparison below reflects the 10 best performing HSF’s that we have reviewed. Each HSF is either + or – the average attained temperature of our champion, presently the Thermalright SK-6. Nine of the top ten listed here are either all copper, plated over copper or use both copper and aluminum as does the Arkua 6228. The Swiftech MCX-370 is the only all aluminum HSF to earn a spot in our top ten. The last column lists the approximate retail selling price in $USD. Compare them for yourself!!!
All prices listed are based on current retail pricing to the best of our knowledge and include the Delta 60 mm fan where applicable.
As can readily be seen in our comparison the Arkua 6228 really gave the Thermalright SK-6 a run for its money and it does have the advantage of weighing less. Both are innovative in design and both deliver on their promise of effective air cooling using the high powered Delta 60 mm fan.
As I’ve often stated, there is little to choose between our top ten HSF’s and it often comes down to personal likes and dislikes, price and just how much performance you really want (I would have said need, but we all want as much performance as we can get).
The Arkua 6228 will be available from your favorite reseller soon and dealers in the UK and Europe can contact www.lapicon.co.uk for details. Dave from www.kdcomputers.com has informed me that they are awaiting the arrival of their order. So, before long, you all will be able to enjoy the super cooling the Arkua 6228 affords its owners!!!
It is important to note that Arkua has a model of this heatsink for our friends that require a quieter running computer. It is the XC60-4210 and comes equipped with a 60 x 60 x 10 mm fan that produces 23.3 CFM’s and only 36.8 dBA’s of noise. Of course, performance will not be to the level of the Arkua 6228!!!
