SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Sept. 1, 2005 - AMD (NYSE: AMD) released the following statement today regarding Intel Corporation's answer to AMD's complaint filed in U.S. federal district court in the district of Delaware on June 27, 2005, which asserts that Intel committed illegal antitrust violations to exclude competition.

"Intel's response is not surprising considering what they are trying to hide, but the facts of illegal monopoly abuse are clear and undeniable," said Thomas M.

The fine folks over at VIAArena have put together an article that that outlines their experiences using the new Windows XP x64 Edition OS.

After installing Avast I transferred my emails that I had saved from my previous system, into Microsoft Outlook Express. Microsoft Outlook Express comes bundled with WinXP x64. I always run spell check before I send an email. But as soon as I hit spell check, I received an error message… Error. Spell Check could not run.

This link from Mercurty News has been floating around that points to the official pricing of the upcoming Xbox 360 console.  MS even has the official PR on their website.

The company will sell a high-end Xbox 360 model that will come with  a standard 20-gigabyte hard disk drive for $399.

AMD takes the next step in its lawsuit by sending out discovery requests to companies asking for their cooperation. 9 companies so far have agreed to cooperate. Stop by The Inquirer to read the full article.


Fourteen of the companies have already responded and nine have said they will work with AMD. Best Buy agreed to comply without limitations. Toshiba acknowledged receipt and refused to negotiate.

Hardware Discussion: Xbox 360 and Sony PS3

Anandtech has a published an article that goes into some detail comparing the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360's hardware specifications including the CPU and GPU. 

On a purely hardware level, ATI's Xbox 360 GPU (codenamed Xenos) is quite interesting. The part itself is made up of two physically distinct silicon ICs. One IC is the GPU itself, which houses all the shader hardware and most of the processing power.
