HTPC's are quickly becoming a common thing, so Intel and AMD have decided to each offer their own standards. They take 2 very different approaches, Intel's is to only allow pre-made machines to carry the Viiv label, while AMD has made a list of approved components, so you can choose between buying a complete system, or building your own. TweakTown has gathered a lot of information on this battle to rule the Digital Home.
"Today we at TweakTown hope to put the myths to rest and describe exactly what should be conjured up
whenever someone speaks about Digital Home. We looked at Intel's Viiv standard recently but today
we're taking a deeper look and comparing Viiv against the AMD Live! standard."
