Gigabyte did not have a lot of space to fit components into the BRIX Gaming UHD, let alone cooling, as it is 220x110x110mm in size or 2.6L in volume. Into this tiny tower you will find an i7-6700HQ with 16GB of dual channel DDR4-2400 and a 512GB Samsung 950 PRO with two M.2 slots for storage expansion, the third is on wireless duty. Gigabyte chose a 4GB GTX 950 to power the video, not new by any means but able to fulfill gaming duties at 1080p and allows the system to be powered by a 180W power brick. 4k gaming is a bit of a stretch for this but it is impressively designed, check out the benchmarks at Kitguru to see its performance in games.
"Gigabyte’s BRIX line of barebones PCs are typically small and low-powered – at least, when compared with a mini-ITX desktop system, for example. However, the new BRIX Gaming UHD aims to change all of that."

I love the look and thought
I love the look and thought process. If it had a gtx 1060 it would be so much better off.
I’m always intrigued by these
I’m always intrigued by these mini PCs, and always baffled by the configuration.
That i7 is a high cost piece, same with that 950 Pro. Paired with a GTX 950, I kinda just shrug my shoulders and wonder, “Why?”
An i3-6100 is roughly the same TDP and has more than enough juice to keep the GTX 950 fed, and roughly 1/3 the cost. A SATA SSD is perfectly capable.
Alternatively, throw in a more powerful, laptop variant GPU.
I just can’t wrap my head around these choices.
Although, I do think it looks really cool, and I’m certain it’s quite peformant.
They have a 4gb GTX 950? Thought those topped out at 2. Hmmph.
Is there a use case where
Is there a use case where combining those parts actually makes sense? I don’t mean that sarcastically. Just curious what they might have had in mind when they chose that weirdly imbalanced spec.
Remember – not everyone buys
Remember – not everyone buys PCs for Gaming. The extra CPU is still quite handy for large excel spreadsheets, multitasking, etc.. and the 950 is enough for p lenty of casual 3D games…
If I read the review
If I read the review correctly, the price works out to around $1,100 USD. Total waste of money unless you have no desire to ever build a PC.
Have to agree with above
Have to agree with above poster. At $1,100 USD I’m not sure who would buy this. I was looking closely at it as a headless upsampling music server for Roon/HQ Player, because the 950 is CUDA capable so HQP can use it. But it’s such a big premium in price for a modest reduction in size compared to a home built PC.
