If you think about price when you think about Chromebooks, then Microsoft is hoping to have options in Windows 10 for you. Laptops that boot into a web browser still have interesting security and ease-of-use implications, which this will not address. From the previously mentioned cost standpoint though, full-featured Windows laptops can get down to those levels, especially when Microsoft helps out on the OS license fees.
This is the more-expensive Chromebook running Google Chrome OS.
Acer will launch their Cloudbook line in August, with 11-inch and 14-inch versions, starting at $169. While you can get Chromebooks for $149, Acer's Chromebook 11 is currently selling for $179.99, which puts the Windows 10 model $10 cheaper than it. On the other hand, we don't know anything about the system specifications. It is possible that the Cloudbook could have less than an Intel Celeron with HD Graphics and 2GB of RAM — but we hope not.
The Acer Cloudbook will not make Microsoft's July 29th launch date of Windows. Instead, as previously stated, look for it some time in August. Prices start at $169 USD.
you will not see any posts
you will not see any posts here about google and their spyware data gathering OS.
they save all that love up for anything “windows”
Google’s spy-tactics does not
Google’s spy-tactics does not give the maker of the of the windows OS the right to push its new spyware(windows 10) out there either. I do not run Google’s or Apple’s branded garbage either. All the “LOVE” for windows and M$ comes from the fact that they are forcing their OS onto Third Party OEM PC/Laptop hardware, and M$ should have been prevented from ever bundling their OS with any third party Independent OEM laptop/PC hardware. This goes for Google and Android/chrome OSs also. Sell me the hardware and let me choose the OS, the OEM can provide a universal driver disk with the appropriate system specific drivers, for at least the top 4 or 5 available OSs. I should not have to Pay a M$ tax, Google Tax, etc. for an OS that I do not want. I don’t hate Apple because Apple does not force its closed OS/software ecosystem onto any independent PC/laptop OEM produced hardware out there, and M$ is welcome to do the same with its OWN branded hardware, but M$ wants to force its OS(spy-windows 10) onto the independent PC/laptop OEM markets products, so the “LOVE” will be eternal, just like the “LOVE” for Ma Bell and the Standard Oil Trust.
Be Very careful when purchasing PC/laptop hardware with windows 10 pre installed, those OEM system UEFI/BIOS off switches for windows Secure Boot may not exist, and with no secure boot turn off option in the UEFI/BIOS you are at the mercy of M$’s key signing authority over your hardware’s OS/software options!!!! Let’s just give our hardware to the Big OS monopoly, and its sulfurous clouds of always forced cloud services, and forced non security “updates”(for more and better spyware for all eternity).
No posts for Google, because Google does not force the matter on the independent laptop/PC market to the degree that M$ does. Nuts to you Nutdella, and your M$ OS cloud flatulence!
