Looks like Seagate is buying Maxtor for $1.9 billion. This will increase Seagate's position as the world's largest hard drive manufacturer, followed by Western Digital. Speaking of Seagate, TechReport takes the 7200.9 "SATA-2.5" 160GB and 500GB disks for a spin in a comprehensive review.

r&b mods pits the Corsair Voyager Flash 1GB USB stick against other USB drives in a battle to the death (well not really). Vantec's NexStar NT370GX is a great external hard drive kit that comes with an integrated cooler/fan, three USB 2.0 ports, and even has fan controls and a temperature monitor. Of course, don't forget about the XFX Revo64 we reviewed here recently on PCPer.
