CES 2008 may be over, but the news is still rolling in.  Check out these pictures and brief reviews from the floor of CES, as well as a look at how well the show is doing at a time when we are seeing long running tech conferences dying.  If you stop by Techgage, you can get a look at the new improved version of the neatest trick pulled off on a motherboard in a long while … Splashtop.  That is the embedded version of Linux that ASUS put on the P5E3 Deluxe, that enabled you to instantly boot the computer, and run a limited amount of programs, like Firefox and Skype.  This next incarnation is much more impressive, and what better place to put instant-on technology that on a laptop?

“We caught up with DeviceVM at CES to see what’s new with their Splashtop embedded Linux environment, which we first saw on the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard. As we found out, development has been steady with many new features implemented and ready for deployment with notebooks.”
