For $400 you could buy a Ubiquiti router and some AC pucks and have a substantially better network.
Would the dual 5Ghz
Would the dual 5Ghz effectively take all of the 5Ghz spectrum in an area where this is deployed?
Yep,every single non DFS
Yep,every single non DFS channel 🙂 Your neighbors will love you. Imagine being able to use that to schedule backups of all of your WiFi enabled systems during the times when your neighbors come home and would be ready to stream some netflix :). (Use all non overlapping 2.4GHz channels also.)
That is why I was asking.
That is why I was asking. Honestly, I am somewhat surprised that Cisco is allow to release a product like this. Making products that would seriously degrade the performance of surrounding networks seems like a bad idea. I understand that the spectrum is unlicensed, but using the entire 5.1-5.8Ghz spectrum, in a area that isn’t remote seems somewhat….evil? Maybe just douchey.
Except that this is not
Except that this is not accurate. 5Ghz channels do not overlap, and therefor you would only be using 2 5ghz channels
I worded that improperly. I
I worded that improperly. I was thinking of channel bonding. I’ve seen some higher end routers that are able to go over the normal 20-40Mhz channel width. Unless I’m missing something, and correct me if I am, this one device would be able to flood a given area and severely degrade neighboring wireless networks.

Look at that thing. It looks ridiculous. The number of ariels on it. For goodness sake. Clearly it needs many many more ariels than that and then it might start to look ok.

Oh wow, another clone of Monkeylord has arrived. Bigger than previous one. Now time has come to see SupCom Megalith clone. LOL Very interesting choice for me because of 8 wired connections (I couldn’t care less about anything wififififiuuuu), but gosh it looks ridiculous.
Just wonder, if they slash 6 antennas price could be down by 100$. Ja? 😛
