The ECS KA3 MVP Extreme is not lacking when it comes to extras, including a completely new way to reset your BIOS for consumer boards.  [H]ard|OCP finds out how it stacks up to the competition, and whether ECS focussed more on features, or overclockability.
“The KA3 MVP Extreme is ECS’ newest edition to their Athlon64 socket AM2 line. The system is based on the last ATI chipset, the Crossfire Xpress 3200, offering full support for all Athlon64 AM2 style processors, DDR2 DRAM modules operating in Dual Channel mode up to 800MHz, as well as dual card Crossfire support in full x16 mode with supported ATI graphics cards. The KA3 MVP is a feature complete solution, only requiring a minimum number of additional components to be fully operational, including an Athlon64 socket AM2 type CPU, DDR2 memory, drives, and a PSU. ECS designed the following components in to the KA3 MVP board: 1 IDE ATA-133 port and 4 SATA II ports (RAID 0, 1 and 0+1 capable) on the ATI controller; 1 IDE ATA-133 and 2 SATA II ports (RAID 0, 1, and 0+1 capable) on the JMicron controller; 10 USB 2.0 capable ports (4 in rear panel, and 3 onboard headers supporting 2 ports each); 2 IEEE 1394 ports (2 onboard headers supporting 1 port each); 1 Realtek 10/100 Ethernet port in rear panel; 1 Agere GigE Ethernet port in rear panel; Realtek 8-channel audio codec featuring S/PDIF optical and RCA component output ports; and PS/2 and serial port support in the rear panel..”
