Powered by a Bay Trail Atom Z3745, 1GB LP DDR3-1066, 16GB eMMC, with support for up to a 64GB SD card and a 7" 1280×800 IPS display the ASUS Memo Pad ME176C is rather impressive for under $150. Shipping with Android 4.2.2 or 4.4 the Memo Pad is not quite as powerful as NVIDIA's new tablet but is nowhere near as expensive either. The Tech Report rather liked this device, as did Ryan; for those on a tight budget the new Memo does just about everything you need for basic usage at an acceptable level of performance.
"Despite its $149 asking price, Asus' Memo Pad ME176C tablet has a quad-core Bay Trail SoC, a 7" IPS display, and little extras like a Micro SD slot and GPS functionality. We take a quick look at this budget slate to see how well Android runs on x86 hardware–and whether a $149 tablet can deliver a good experience."

Where is that douche that
Where is that douche that comments on every Intel article with an essay on Power 8? I have already forgotten the merits of Power 8 and need to be reminded in every single article published on this site.
I was wondering the same

So… load full Windows 8.1
So… load full Windows 8.1 on this thing?
I’ll take Nvidia’s new
I’ll take Nvidia’s new tablet, the graphics are much better, and the Denver cores are about to arrive. Apple is going to be introducing the A8 processor, and hopefully sometime in the future the PowerVR wizard GPU, with hardware ray tracing will get to market. I am looking forward to the PowerVR’s benchmarks, against Nvidia’s mobile K1 graphics. Apple is going to have to increase the graphics performance of their tablet’s GPUs, and Intel’s products will not be able to compete in the GPU category. Apple will be using Imagination’s Series6XT series in the future, but Nvidia appears to have the edge in OpenGL support, and has set the high bar for mobile with support for the full OpenGL standard. Maybe Nvidia will force Apple, and others to speed up the adoption of more powerful GPUs on their tablet SKUs, just like Apple accelerated the adoption of the 64 bit ARMv8 ISAs into the device market, this speeding up of these mobile processor roadmaps will bring the latest technology to market quicker than any individual maker had planned, competition in the mobile market is driving innovation much faster, than the noncompetitive PC/Laptop market, here’s looking forward to AMD’s custom ARMv8 ISA based HSA aware SOCs, and the technological improvement in the mobile market continuing at a rapid pace. The custom ARMv8 cores will continue to dominate the market, and even ARM holdings will be forced to widen their reference designs beyond the current 3 IPC to the 6 or more, that the custom cores are executing per clock.
They aren’t even in the same
They aren’t even in the same ball park. It’s like saying, No, I don’t want the used ’07 honda mini, I’d rather buy a BMW.
Well you sponsor Intel, still
Well you sponsor Intel, still needs Nvidia, or AMD to Game on the high end, those Intel graphics just do not make it for serious gaming. And corkscrew duck wankers, Really that post will live forever, snicker, snicker! So much ARM based mobile systems in the pipeline, from Nvidia, and AMD, and mobile is all about the Custom ARMv8 ISA based cores that already control the mobile market, free of any Intel single ISA dog and pony show! Apple is sure doing good with their custom ARMv8 ISA cores, and the A8 is on the way, who knows what Apple my do, to get the Intel out of their macbooks, and mac pros. Memo’s contra revenue will not help the eventual trip to the landfill, along side the AOL and Windows 8 CD/DVDs. ATOM, when you have to pay the very most, for the worst graphics, and a suppliers ring through your nose.
So this is Intel’s contra
So this is Intel’s contra revenue in action, and this tablet would spend more time thrashing than performing useful tasks, running Win8 with only 1GB of RAM. Linux is fine, but the graphics on this system is so completely, pawned by Nvidia’s and AMD’s graphics. And some websites, NOT PCper, are a little over friendly to certain companies’ products, with Intel up to their usual turfing practices, that have brought Intel in front of the Bench on more than one occasion.
