The newest in DDR2 is the OCZ PC2-6400 ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth 4GB Dual Channel kit shows the exact reason DDR2 is still going to be popular for a while.  This pair of 800MHz, 4-4-3-15 timed 2GB DIMMs can be yours for $150 at NewEgg.  When Overclock3D tested out the overclocking ability, the heatpipes helped them to hit DDR2-1100 speeds, and they only had to up the voltage to 2.1v, so the DIMMs are still under warantee.

"Just when we thought that all the DDR2 reviews had dried up, OCZ comes and surprises us with their latest "ReaperX" 4GB

kit."
