The launch of the new AMD Radeon HD 6800-series of graphics cards might have technically occurred yesterday, but chances are many of you are just learning about it today.  Well first, be sure you read my review of both the Radeon HD 6870 and HD 6850 cards to see if these are cards you might be interested in upgrading to.  After that, feel free to jump back here and check out the Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB that just arrived.

Even though this card is indeed a reference design running at the same clock speeds as our samples tested for the launch review, it is important to see retail-ready cards in our office; that means they are hitting shelves as well.
Sapphire does include a solid bundle of cables and such: an HDMI cable, CrossFire connection, dual 6-pin PCIe power adapters (for those of you with REALLY old power supplies) and even a mini-DisplayPort to full-size DisplayPort adapter.
The familiar Ruby character is seen on the Sapphire HD 6870 patiently waiting for you to make up your mind about buying her.
If you are looking for HD 6800 cards, we have found them in stock at various locations, including this very Sapphire HD 6870 1GB model:
