UPDATE (Nov 24th, 8pm ET): As I was informed, both on Twitter and in the comments, the update has been restored. Apparently the issue was that this tool, when upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 10 1511, accidentally reset four privacy settings to default. They also happened to be four of the less-severe ones, such as whether to allow apps to run in the background and whether settings should sync between devices. It has apparently been fixed and the tool will install the latest version of Windows 10 once more.

Regardless of your opinion about Windows 10, I'm glad that Microsoft has once again provided a way to force a specific version on your device. Their recent statement, telling users that Windows Update will give them the correct build eventually, is not comforting if someone is failing to receive the update. Is it coming? Or did it block for some reason? I also wonder if the 30-day policy would still be enforced, making clean installs that much more annoying. Turns out it was all hypothetical, and Microsoft was planning on reinstating it instantly, though.
This is a bit surprising and disappointing. When the November 2015 update for Windows 10 went live, existing users could upgrade with Windows Update (if it let them) and the rest could force an in-place upgrade from Windows 7, 8.x, and earlier builds of Windows 10 using the tool. The latter method has apparently been reverted to the original Windows 10 build from July 2015.
This image is getting a lot more use than I intended.
Why? Who knows. They are still offering the update through Windows Update, and Microsoft claims that they have no intention of pulling it. This concerns me, because there are a few situations where Windows 10 updates will get stuck, such as if you get it through Windows Update then uninstall it. I have not seen any report cover the official procedure for this issue. Also, I wonder if there's a way to get past Microsoft's 30-day no-update policy.
According to WinBeta, Microsoft's official statement contains the following: “Microsoft has not pulled the Windows 10 November 10 update. The company is rolling out the November update over time – if you don’t see it in Windows Update, you will see it soon.” (Emphasis not mine.)
We'll probably hear more about this as the week goes on.
I’m glad I went the media
I’m glad I went the media creation tool route before they did that.
It’s annoying that I had to go through all the settings to toggle all the switches, to clear up registry mismatches, but I could never go back to the slower bootups, white titlebars, and live tiles without jumplists.
… and the 1511 version of
… and the 1511 version of the media creation tool is now back.
I have not run into any
I have not run into any issues with the November update yet, fingers crossed that it stays that way after this news!
Simply too many reported
Simply too many reported issues with the new update.
Ranging from downgrading Pro to Home, to hardware based Bitlocker no longer working, to uninstalling applications (that should be flagged and just create a warning when trying to run) without notice.
Cancelled my Surface Pro 4 pre-order as Windows 10 is still very much alpha/beta quality and Microsoft doesn’t seem to care about quality control any longer.
Considering cancelling my Lumia 950 XL pre-order as well.
With the Windows Server version of 10 not due until second half of 2016, and knowing they delayed Server 2008 until Vista SP1, I’m beginning to be of the mind that Windows 10 won’t be of proper quality until second half of 2016.
The update is buggy. On both
The update is buggy. On both my wireless devices, it wasn’t seeing network devices correctly.
And on my desktop, when I try to add anything to the notebook in Cortona, it doesn’t allow any searches (weather, teams, etc).
Both of these issues I didn’t have prior to TH2
if it doesnt update wait 24
if it doesnt update wait 24 to 48 hours, it usually fix things

This explains why I had to go
This explains why I had to go into settings and toggle all the toggle switches, to get the actual settings in the registry to agree with what the Settings said the settings were. :p
Windows 10 build 10586 is not
Windows 10 build 10586 is not ready for the general purpose use. There is no way to block updates. Each update creates more problems.
I want windows 8.1 my primary OS and windows 10 as a secondary OS.
Anyway, I have a dell windows 8.1 cd that I can install anytime.
I need to save the data and keep windows 10 OS on a USB thumb drive. Or install Linux in one of the partition.
Now M$ is saying that
Now M$ is saying that removing the update is because some privacy settings were mistakenly changed from do not slurp to metrics slurp ahoy! How convenient of M$ to “Admit” to this, when the metrics are already downloaded and stored in M$ cloud so thoroughly backed up to Tape, or disk, that the data slurp can never really be undone! So one should never accept any M$ Mea Culpa as unintentional where privacy is concerned! That personal data is slurped forever, and that includes passwords, cryptographic keys, and the spaffing of your wifi password to all your friends and their friends on down the 6 degrees of separation to the whole damn world!
Never attribute to incompetence on M$’s part any malicious deed which could rationally be attributed to malice if M$ is involved!

Well, it’s de-reverted now,
Well, it’s de-reverted now, along with a new update that replaces the previous update, which apparently had bugs that broke the media creation tool.
They’ve resumed the 1511 version of the media creation tool.
Here is some more liberties
Here is some more liberties M$’s removed “update” has taken with users computers! Removimg software with no warnings! Maybe it’s a dress rehearsal for when that final 10 update takes complete control over your PCs/Laptops! You are now BorgDella-fied you will serve the windows M$ windows 10 RedmondoBorg Cloud collective, you are node 6 of 9 of M$ RedmondoBorg cloud collective. There are going to be many
There are going to be many lawsuits against Microsoft because of windows 10. Microsoft is damaging users computers with windows 10. I am fed-up with Microsoft windows 10. I am thinking to delete windows 10 from PC.
I also want to block Microsoft from updating windows 8.1.
In my opinion, Windows 7/8.1 are good enough for most people. Many things are wrong with windows 10. I am expecting a big user backlash against Microsoft.
I think somebody got to teach Microsoft a lesson about privacy and destroying users computers.
Here is something to digest
Here is something to digest along with your giblet gravy on Thanksgiving, and talk about gravy sucking! Talking about some user metrics gravy slurping spyware pigs getting all of your private data giblets! M$ is definitely playing a game of privacy Wac-A-Mole with its update antics! Happy telemetry day, M$ has all your private Data Giblets!

Hi guys,
Once you install
Hi guys,
Once you install Windows 10, your computer becomes Microsoft property. Microsoft will determine which application is good for you or for windows 10.
I installed AMiDuOS emulator on windows 10. When I re-started windows 10 all applications were gone, all tiles were gone, and Microsoft created a temporary profile to use the windows 10.
I deleted windows 10. Windows 10 is a malware, ramsomware and spyware.
Many smart people will not bother with windows 10.
