I have successfully returned from Montreal, where 2.5 feet of snow is an inconvenience, not an emergency, and the parties don’t start until midnight.  I hope everyone else has had as good a time as I, except for Ryan and Josh who have been slaving away keeping the front page of PC Perspective updated with the newest in tech news.  Thanks guys!

Over at Slashdot, you can see a nice little device that would have fit perfectly under the Christmas tree … unfortunately it’s not available quite yet.  It’s the size of an iPod and capable of WVGA resolution (848×480), and capable of a 5′ picture from 5′ away.  It can project on far more than just flat white surfaces, and should only cost between $200 – $300, so expect to see them showing up in places you don’t expect projectors to fit.

“Mixed into all of PCMag’s CES preview coverage is an interesting story about a projector that’s no bigger than an iPod. An early version showed up at last year’s CES, but some of the guts weren’t inside the small body. Now they are. It uses lasers to project the image. Really fascinating, futuristic stuff.”
