Every once in a while take an opportunity to learn about YOU, our faithful fans of PC Perspective.  Today is one of those days as we have setup a small survey to help point us in the right direction for the future of the website.  We can learn a lot from your help with this:

  1. We learn about you.
  2. We learn what you want to read on PC Perspective.
  3. We learn what you don't want to read on PC Perspective.
  4. We learn what you want to see as the future of PC Perspective.

As you can see, YOU have a lot of power over what is going to happen here, so wield it wisely.  If you write in the comments section that we should fire Josh then we'll probably do it probably not do it.

Other than the obviously great feelings you'll receive from helping out your friends at PC Perspective, we decided that to entice you to spend the 5 minutes on the survey that it will require we are going to offer up a handful of prizes as well!

All you have to do to win one of these great prizes is:

  1. Fill out our survey.
  2. Wait for us to pick you as a winner.

Man, we pride ourselves on making our contests and sweepstakes easy, but this is ridiculous!  The competition is open to ALL people around the world though you can ONLY enter one time!  The survey will run through the 8th of June, so get your entries in!

Good luck and thank you so much for being a part of PC Perspective!

Continue on to the survey for your chance to win and support PC Perspective while doing it!

Thanks!

Just a quick edit for this post Ryan.
" If you write in the comments section thtat we should fire Josh"
Just a slight spelling error but i thought i'd let you know anyway :)

May 24, 2012 | 10:23 PM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

Fixed thanks!

May 24, 2012 | 10:35 PM - Posted by Sphex (not verified)

Also $50,001-$50,000 is an amount you can make?

May 24, 2012 | 10:54 PM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

Doh, not any more... lol

May 29, 2012 | 08:25 PM - Posted by Tim Verry

that one dollar went into stock options lol ;)

No @ firing Josh... I've enjoyed his partially inebriated humour in the podcasts.

Also, I noted in my response for the survey about the favicon for the site being the drupal logo, and has been for several months... I'd like to bring it up here, just incase it's overlooked in my survey comment.

Odd...not for me: http://screencast.com/t/C8muf5HJC

May 25, 2012 | 09:59 AM - Posted by JSL

For me, it only shows the correct icon using firefox. IE & Chrome show this http://i.imgur.com/e9NEj.png
Changing it from a local relative address to its global address would solve it.

May 25, 2012 | 10:45 AM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

Odd, it works for me on FF and Chrome...

I'll look into it.

May 25, 2012 | 02:06 AM - Posted by cyow

Don't fire anyone just get colleen back from time to time just to see how she going.

May 30, 2012 | 11:50 AM - Posted by negatus (not verified)

I'm pretty sure the PCPer crew dislike Colleen. After leaving twit.tv, she came on the podcast and was brutalized/ignored so she dropped off and has never returned.

I keep getting validation error when I try to submit my survey. Any ideas on this?

May 25, 2012 | 12:21 PM - Posted by klatch

It means your answers are incorrect. ;)

May 25, 2012 | 01:29 PM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

I honestly can't say I've seen that. Do you have a screenshot?

May 25, 2012 | 06:14 PM - Posted by Starkie24

Here is a screen shot:

Putting something other than an email address in that field maybe?

May 25, 2012 | 12:32 PM - Posted by klatch

I'd note that you acknowledge other regions but the component resellers are all American and there is no "other" or fill in available. I'm Canadian and check memoryexpress and NCIX generally and I know there are some Canadian versions of some of the sites such as newegg, tigerdirect, and amazon but they generally pale in comparison to their US counterparts.

EDIT: Was NCIX there yesterday when I filled in the survey? If so I totally missed it.

May 25, 2012 | 01:29 PM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

It certainly was. :P

May 25, 2012 | 05:52 PM - Posted by Draca (not verified)

Agree on the resellers most of the companies listed don't even ship to Sweden so it really needs a other option.

May 30, 2012 | 02:35 PM - Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

No Canada Computers option either. Newegg is good, but not the best.

May 25, 2012 | 12:59 PM - Posted by Gunbuster

I am so ready to win that case!

May 25, 2012 | 01:03 PM - Posted by benefit14snake (not verified)

Gimmie that vertex! Lol been reading here since 05 or 06 and havent won yet. Wouldnt mind winning something =)

May 25, 2012 | 02:31 PM - Posted by vanster

Thanks PCper, some nice stuff.

May 25, 2012 | 05:51 PM - Posted by Super Six Two

I hope I win the case...then I will have no choice but to build a new system :P

May 26, 2012 | 09:25 AM - Posted by Branthog

I absolutely REFUSE to participate in data-mining surveys. On the other hand, I'll make an exception for you guys. Just promise me you're not going to be reselling this to someone else and dumping it back into the whole data-mining system. Keep it for yourselves and we're good.

May 29, 2012 | 12:36 PM - Posted by Ryan Shrout

I am only using your email address to contact you if you win a prize. Nothing more!

May 30, 2012 | 01:25 AM - Posted by Branthog

I just got this thing about enlargement. Are you SURE that isn't you?! :P

Oh - also - if I win, just give my stuff to someone else. I don't actually need anything. But glad to help with an opinion or two to guide the site. A worthy cause.

May 29, 2012 | 08:23 PM - Posted by Tim Verry

Don't worry, the email addresses are only to contact prize winners. We hate spam even more than the readers I bet ;)

May 30, 2012 | 09:32 PM - Posted by Jeremy Hellstrom

Wait, I thought we were going to use this to start our spam farm!?

May 30, 2012 | 10:45 PM - Posted by Tim Verry

muahaha that's on the downlow :P

totally kidding!

May 29, 2012 | 01:52 PM - Posted by SD (not verified)

I know the winners will probably be picked randomly, but I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that my system is currently running with a spinning disk harddrive (!). As in...not an SSD. It's currently SSD-less. Purely mechanical (and somewhat electrical).
And to the nay-sayers who think it would be a waste to put a Vertex 4 in a system that doesn't support SATA-600...I FLING POO AT YOU!

May 29, 2012 | 08:24 PM - Posted by Tim Verry

hehehe, best of luck in winning that SSD man, they make a huge difference in general system performance. Adding an SSD was the biggest performance jump I've ever gotten out of a single upgrade!

May 29, 2012 | 09:59 PM - Posted by zakattak80 (not verified)

i'm on the same boat, i'm running a relatively high end system with a 7950 and overclocked 2500k. never played with a ssd before. yet, i feel like i,m missing out on a lot of my systems potential.

May 29, 2012 | 10:55 PM - Posted by JSL

you'll never go back.

May 29, 2012 | 08:45 PM - Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

If you fire Josh I'll be forced to stop listening to the podcast! And Josh will be forced to the streets when he's jobless and he'll have to resort to *other* ways of making money just to get by.

May 31, 2012 | 05:49 PM - Posted by Josh Walrath

Other ways? Are you knockin my hobbies?

May 29, 2012 | 10:53 PM - Posted by JSL

In reply to Tim Verry's Comment at the bottom of the previous page:

Hopefully he doesnt have an old 780G chipset.

May 30, 2012 | 06:48 AM - Posted by SD (not verified)

Oh no worries. I'm rocking with an nforce 570 chipset. It even supports that newfangled SLI technology!

I love you guys and the work that you do. Always willing to give a survey for information (Prizes never hurt either ^^)!

Always positive to get on the site and see this after a horrible defeat at nertz.

May 30, 2012 | 12:23 PM - Posted by negatus (not verified)

I wish I could've provided better information on the survey. I usually buy the best components I can afford and then hold out until they fry (or become too outdated). Right now I'm really interested in laptops. After I buy it, I'll probably just skim laptop news/reviews until I want/need to buy a new one.

Send me the e-mail! tell me i won the price! thank you!

June 1, 2012 | 03:59 AM - Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

Don't fire Josh just make him "part time" and cut back his hours until he just doesn't show up anymore. Then all the unemployment benefits he has been paying he will never be able to collect because he was part time and he quit. A win for you and a win for tax payers. Or just lock him away like you did to Allen.

June 2, 2012 | 10:45 AM - Posted by devinbaines

I am a loyal reader and listener/viewer to both the PCPER and TWICH podcasts. Keep it coming!

June 6, 2012 | 10:54 PM - Posted by Loquacious1

Thanks for the chance to win goodies Ryan. Have learned a lot from your show and enjoy them while hanging out with the rest of the TWiT's. Survey didn't take retirees into account so just ignore that income part as it indicates I should be on welfare. lol Never give that kind of info out anyway...

June 9, 2012 | 09:22 AM - Posted by Neon

I heard that they fired Josh.

But, he gets one chance to redeem himself in the next podcast. If Josh can correctly guess why he is fired, then they won't fire him.

Thanks for the chance! Submitted my sincere survey answers + suggestion for the site. Good luck everyone
