My concern with the radiator
My concern with the radiator testing is not so much the heat input, loop details or even necessarily the normal measurements we are used to in this field. My concern is the fan testing.
If you are doing a comparison of FPI and different thickness of radiators you need to look at different fan speeds and ideally different fans as we know different ones have different static pressure and results in different performance depending on FPI and thickness. The results as they stand don’t show the key difference between these radiators, which is how they scale with the difference in fan speed. That is a key detail, because the high FPI radiator will show better performance on lower speed fans comparably to the lower FPI.
To fix the review I would argue all you really needed to do was vary the fan speed from about 800rpm to about 2000 rpm and you would see how they perform differently at the different rates of flow. Ideally I would love for some decent high static pressure fans be used as well, and compare those to normal or lower pressure ones but fan speed is really important if your purpose is to compare FPI and radiator thickness.

@PCPER
When you guys were
@PCPER
When you guys were talking about AMD’s 5Ghz CPU FX-9000 your jokes and assumptions were wrong at one point.
TDP does not equal power consumptions and you just did that, you guys put TDP and power consumption in the same box! That’s seriously unprofessional, you lost my respect…
i7 3770k average power consumption is 140-160 watts while FX 8350 average power consumption is about 170-200 watts.
i7 3770k is Quad Core/Octa Thread
FX 8350 is Octa Core/Octa Thread
There is a difference, please learn:
TDP =/= Power Consumption
TDP and power consumption are
TDP and power consumption are obviously not one and the same, but they are connected.
FX 8350 is four module… while it handles 8 threads, it can't do that per clock. One four-wide decode unit per module cannot handle more than one thread. Steamroller fixes this with two sets of decoders per module.
