As you can no doubt tell, PC Perspective got a HUGE and much needed facelift last weekend to what we are internally calling "PC Perspective v4.0". I know there are still some kinks to work out and we are actively addressing any feedback from our readers in this comment thread.
But we want to celebrate the launch of the new site in style!! Some of our site sponsors have very generously offered up some prizes for us to give out throughout the coming days...
The fifth set of prizes is a pair of Thermaltake Max 5G USB 3.0 external hard drive enclosures!
It has lights, it has fans AND it runs at USB 3.0 speeds. What do you have to do to win this wonderful piece of hardware?
Couldn't be easier: post a comment in this post thanking Thermaltake for its sponsorship of PC Perspective as well as your plans for using such a cool USB 3.0 external drive dock. What other features would you like to see on external enclosures like this?
You should probably have a registered account or at least be sure you include your email address in the appropriate field so we can contact you!
We will pick the winners tomorrow and move on to the next hardware that finds its way to PC Perspective offices. Good luck and thanks for reading!!

Thanks Thermaltake for sponsoring PCPer. I could use the enclosure to store music and video files. May be the next enclosure could have a USB hub.
Thank you Thermaltake
Thank you Thermaltake for supporting PCPer. I'm sure i could use one of those.
Thanks Thermaltake. I'd probably use it to store my OS backups. I'd like 3+ TB hard disk support on externals like these.
thanks thermaltake for this wonderful oppurtunity of winning this amazing gift via pc perspective.i have been using a lot of external drives from a long time.an one thing that bothers me a lot is the speed of data transfer rate.but with the introduction of usb 3.0 it has become faster.that is some good news for us.moreover the fans for cooling it, is a good feature.external hd are used everywhere these days.i know it is a wonerful product .hope so that i win it.
Good of Thermaltake to support Pcper.
Thanks Thermaltake for this PCPer giveaway. What I would like on my enclosure is vital stats display like HDD total space, space used, temps. I plan on using one for superfast backups in my office.
Thanks for your sponsorship Thermaltake.
Lovin the new site PC Perspective. Thanks for all the hard work.
Thanks Thermaltake, for sponsoring PC Perspective. This would really help with my backups.
Appreciate the sponsorship!
A big "thank you" to Thermaltake for sponsoring PC Perspective and donating this cool Thermaltake Max 5G drive enclosure to be given away in celebration of the new PC Perspective web site. I'd throw a drive in the Thermaltake Max 5G and use it as an easy and stylish way to move massive home video files between my friends computers and mine. As for what other features I'd like on external drive enclosures like this... This one has pretty much everything I'd want, but I guess a couple of USB hub ports might come in handy.
This is an impressive unit. I'm looking at the specs of it and I am impressed at the details already there, ie:capacity indicator and ability to turn led's off. If we could get a usb3 hub on a device like this in the future that would be awesome. Thanks for supporting PCPer Thermaltake! I'd probably use this as an enclosure for video editing and the like - I'd like to see how USB3 holds up for that.
Thank you Thermaltake. I want to get my 400GB hdd inside so i can use it properly. I go to work with hundreds of documents and pictures and i carry it inside a bag. This one would be amazing as a "coat" for my hard disk drive.
Other features? Well a sata port since it already has usb 3.0 and a converter from sata to ide would be nice as well.
thanks much, sorry but I don't have much, I would have to sell this thing just so I could maybe afford 1 new hard-drive, anyways..., thanks again
This one's nice! Thanks for bringing this one up PCPERSPECTIVE! Much thanks to Thermaltake, for sponsoring our beloved site. This enclosure will really extend the life of my drive. I'll use it to safeguard my err... "Collections" teehee...
I would love Thermaltake to make full use of those LEDs. Maybe a little drive space indicator and fan controller+speed indicator will do. Thanks!
Thanks Thermaltake, this would be a sweet external drive for my ever expanding Steam collection.
Hi,
Thanks Thermaltake for this Nice harddrive & also want to thanks PC Perspective for given this away.
I think I would use it to store my movies & series & share them with other people.
About adding features, maybe make it into a NAS?? Just saying this because I have nothing else to add :)
Thanks ;)
Zarkos
Thanks Thermaltake for sponsoring PC Per. This Will be used for my last external drive to be for HD Movies. And will complete my array of External HDD's. A display showing the Hard Drive name, size and remaining space would be cool as well as temperature. Not that temperature is likely to ever be a problem with such puuurrdy and awesome piece of hardware :)
Thank you Thermaltake for sponsoring PC Perspective,, This beauty would match my new usb 3.0 computer with blue led fans,, and my amplifier with leds perfect!
Thanks Thermaltake!!! I'm planning a new build later this year/early next. I might salvage parts from my old computer to be used in my new rig... but chances aren't good. I will probably use the new enclosures for my old hard drives.. that would be awesome!
awesome thermaltake
Thanx Thermaltake for sponsoring PC Perspective
I'd like this enclosure has temperature info and adjustable fan rotation
Very cool, thanks Thermaltake.
PcPer Rocks!
Thank you Thermaltake Inc for sponsoring PCPer. :))
I will be using the Thermaltake Max 5G USB 3.0 external hard drive enclosures for encasing my portable harddrive which contains all my backups including photos, movies and games!
The dual cooling system is ubercool! Also i had like to see an E-Sata port, E-Sata is a common nowadays.
Gimme a chance to awestruck my friends! :D
Thanks Thermaltake for sponsoring PCPerspective.
Is this the comment place? OK. My comment is: thanks to Thermaltake for sponsoring this awesome giveaway on PCPer.
Thanks again Thermaltake!
I really don't know what I would use this enclosure for. I don't have USB 3 yet.
I suppose I'll just have to upgrade the whole computer.
Thanks again Thermaltake and PCPER.com for keeping the giveaways going.
woo hoo Thanks to TT for being a proud PCPer sponsor :)
