UPDATE 2: Congratulations to user Cameron Berry as they are the winner of the PCAudioLabs sweepstakes sponsored by PC Perspective and Intel!! Thanks to everyone that participated and be sure to stay tuned for more contests right here on pcper.com!
Our fans and readers have supported PC Perspective since its formation in 2004 and even before that back in the days of amdmb.com and athlonmb.com, and because of that support, we have been able to provide you with reviews and information on a continuous basis that we feel are the best in the industry. And when we get the chance to give back to you, we jump at the chance and that is just what happened a couple weeks ago when our long time friends at Intel introduced us to the folks at PCAudioLabs for a sweepstakes of impressive proportions.
For the next two weeks we are giving our readers the chance to win a complete PCAudioLabs computer based on the Intel X79 platform and Sandy Bridge-E!! If you aren't familiar with PCAudioLabs, here is a rundown of their mission from their website:
PCAudioLabs was formed early in 2000 by Thomas Bolton and Fred Rosenbloom. At the time, they were both working at Steinberg North America in the technical department and they noticed a great need for more educational tools for music production. With a video camera and a desire to inform, they started making in depth tutorial guides to some of the biggest software products in music production. The company was a huge success but it quickly became apparent that even if people knew how to use their software, it wouldn’t be of much help if the computer they were trying to use it on didn’t do its job.
PCAudioLabs built their first custom DAW for world renowned Engineer/Producer Mark Howard and within months they were the hottest system builders in the country. Besides the enormous list of pro users that have chosen PCAudioLabs, AMD, Intel and Microsoft have all turned to PCAudioLabs whenever they have audio needs.
In 2007, PCAudioLabs tripled in size, moving into a new location and increasing staff to meet demand. By NAMM 2008, PCAudioLabs was not only the supplier of PC’s for music software giants Steinberg and Cakewalk, but also hardware manufacturers such as Roland, Yamaha and Euphonix.
Although our task is technical, we know our staff needs to be able to relate to you and your situation. That’s why not only are the people who will build your system experts in computing, they are also musicians. In fact, any person you e-mail or speak to at PCAudioLabs makes music, so you’ll never have to worry about asking a musical question and getting a technical response – we speak your language.
Inside this brand-new generation of Rok Box you'll find an Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E processor along with a great Intel DX79TO motherboard. Kingston has supplied 16GB of DDR3 memory to keep your audio creation rolling even with a ton of applications loaded up. Storage is powered by a 240GB Intel 510 SSD as well as dual 1TB spinning drives for recording and sampling simultaneously. ASUS has provided the GTX 560 Ti CUII TOP graphics card and the entire system is powered by an 850 watt Antec High Current Pro power supply. In total, the system from PCAudioLabs will retail for right around $3,000!!
That isn't all though as PCAudioLabs has included full versions of software required for audio production including Cakewalk Sonar X1 Essential, Native Instruments Komplete Element's, IK Multimedia's Amplitube FREE and much more. The software alone is valued at more than $600 bringing the total value here to over $3,600! See the PCAudioLabs website for more details.
I am sure you are interested in the system itself so we have created a short video to go over the hardware as well as the software included in this bundle - check it out!
Without a doubt you are wondering what you have to do to win this system. The steps are simple:
- Visit the PCAudioLabs Facebook page at http://facebook.com/pcaudiolabs, "Like" it and leave a comment on the wall if you want as well, thanking them for supporting PC Perspective and the audio creation community. They are supporting PC Perspective by giving us this system and allowing US to support YOU with the giveaway, so get over here and support THEM!
- Leave a comment on this PC Perspective post below (registration is not required, though recommended) telling us and the PCAL crew what you plan to do with this system, how you'll utilize its power in your audio creation projects, etc. What will the Rok Box improve or make easier for you?
- And if you want to follow us for more PC hardware news and upcoming contests you can do so at several locations. http://twitter.com/pcper http://facebook.com/pcper and http://gplus.to/pcper
That's it! Our sweepstakes will run between today at end at 12:01am EST on March the 6th. If you don't have your entry in by then, you are out of luck. We will pick a random winner from the comments and ship the system out that week in March. You are responsible for any taxes / tariffs but we'll cover the shipping to anywhere in the world.
A HUGE thanks goes out to our friends at PCAudioLabs and Intel for making this possible and we hope you all appreciate the work that goes into putting something like this on. Also, thanks goes to Antec, ASUS and Kingston for their support as well.
Good luck to everyone and happy audio editing!!

This would be an amazing rig to set up with my soundboard. Great way to add quite a bit of music/noise to my animated videos.
Thanks PCPer and PCAudioLabs!
So pretty
Awesome computer you guys are great especially with how much you guys give back to fans. I am going to just keep mixing like I have up to this point, but with the new software and hardware it is hard to imagine the new possibilities of what I could do.
I will listen to pornz, edit pornz, look pornz.
Wow, that PC. The build acctually look beautiful.
If I won this I would be able to start making music again, my last pc's 2 different graphic card I have tried have both crashed. Which means that I dont have a computer good enough to use music software like reason on. I do however have a keyboard.
I would continue doing what I love and with all of the computer, I have nothing holding be back.
Please, it would mean so much for me.
I really want that computer since I can barely do my homeworks with my Family's computer. I plan to enjoy it every days with my whole friends and have a lot of fun with it !!
Thank you for contest and keep that good work !
Great contest PC Per and PCAudioLabs, this setup would help with my new music projects and video rendering.
I (try) to do a lot of mixing for the video portion of our local football and baseball organization's videos for the annual celebrations. I am very much a novice, so a rig like this would prove invaluable!
Would be an awesome upgrade, mine's gettin old so doesn't have much power to do anything anymore.
I've been meaning to get into podcasting in a real way, and I'd love a system that would enable me to put together some really quality stuff.
Great looking rig! Nice job
I plan to do alot of school work with this computer, I have an old computer, it's pretty shabby. The side is covered by a cardboard box because I do not have the money to buy a big enough case for it..
Sweet system! I wouldn't mind winning it :)
Hey PCper! i have been doing graphic design on the side for 3 years now and my laptop i have been doing it all on died the other day. motherboard just fired... i am using a temp laptop that i had kicking around. i do not have money to buy a new one and this would greatly help me out with editing, and drafting.
thanks PCper and PCAudio Labs for putting on this contest.
My Coleco Adam computer is incompatible with modern audio creation software.
Would love a system like this for editing the MST3K fan movie we've been putting together. Would make the whole process much smoother.
Thanks for the great contest and great work to PCPer, PCAudioLabs. It would really be great to use this sysytem to create/edit/archive content for my church by using it for our song services & sermons recordings.Plus not to mention the fact of the sheer joy of putting together a modern system.
I will be looking into recording and editing the music that i am learning to play.
Thanks PCPer and PCAudioLabs :-D
This rig will be great as a workstation for my video and audio projects, a great upgrade to my 4 year old PC.
If I win I ll use this computer to mix music , test games and mostly to create Pro gaming Movies ,3d animations( for which I need that memmory and HDD) with my brother .
Thank you PC Perspective and PC Audio Labs for this awesome giveaway.I could use the system for my video projects ,gaming, and who knows maybe to become musician:)
It'd be a nice portable mix and mastering rig. Add along my firewire solo and a couple of tables, I'll have some fun times!
I would use this to improve the editing capabilities of my wife's music. She is a singer songwriter and she would greatly benefit from the software alone.
Thanks for showing us pcaudiolabs!
This system has a lot of Potential in the right hands, may these my by hands or another worthy persons but I'll say this, I would put this to great use not having much money myself I will greatly benefit from this not only for the audio capabilities but for much more, Next year I am going to university and I am looking for a better rig than what I have not only to program and to develop myself but and to build something that will revolutionize the way we use think and interact with computers but to do that I need some power behind me, with ever increasing university prices now at £9000 a year this would help me out greatly, Thanks for your time and good luck people :)
I would love to have a great system to use and start learning more about sound editing for videos and much more!
Note: The Facebook link is linking to Twitter.
I'm a young, up and coming producer. I would love to use this set up and software for producing dance tracks. It would totally be awesome.. Dream come true!
I'll probably use the computer for lots of stuff, not only music. But, I'm a gamer, so I'll probably be gaming on the computer a lot. But, as I said, it will be used for many things, including music.
Looks awsome. really hope i win it.
I would love to have this rig.
It would make my life so much easier.
Video editing, gaming, school!
Thanks all for supporting this.
Thanks for the contest! This computer looks awesome, and it would be great for my audio production needs. I'm currently a student at Mesa Community College in AZ for Audio Production, and I run Pro Tools 8 on an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra.I mostly record myself and my friends doing cover songs, and I mix a lot as well. This rig would help me in my mixing, as it would allow me to use more plug ins consecutively. Tanks again for the great giveaway, and good luck to everyone!
