UPDATE: Contest is closed!  We'll announce a winner in the next couple of days!! Thanks to all who entered and to our sponsors for allowing us the chance to give away this kick-ass system!

UPDATE 2: Congratulations to user Cameron Berry as they are the winner of the PCAudioLabs sweepstakes sponsored by PC Perspective and Intel!!  Thanks to everyone that participated and be sure to stay tuned for more contests right here on!

Our fans and readers have supported PC Perspective since its formation in 2004 and even before that back in the days of and, and because of that support, we have been able to provide you with reviews and information on a continuous basis that we feel are the best in the industry.  And when we get the chance to give back to you, we jump at the chance and that is just what happened a couple weeks ago when our long time friends at Intel introduced us to the folks at PCAudioLabs for a sweepstakes of impressive proportions.

For the next two weeks we are giving our readers the chance to win a complete PCAudioLabs computer based on the Intel X79 platform and Sandy Bridge-E!!  If you aren't familiar with PCAudioLabs, here is a rundown of their mission from their website:

PCAudioLabs was formed early in 2000 by Thomas Bolton and Fred Rosenbloom. At the time, they were both working at Steinberg North America in the technical department and they noticed a great need for more educational tools for music production. With a video camera and a desire to inform, they started making in depth tutorial guides to some of the biggest software products in music production. The company was a huge success but it quickly became apparent that even if people knew how to use their software, it wouldn’t be of much help if the computer they were trying to use it on didn’t do its job.

PCAudioLabs built their first custom DAW for world renowned Engineer/Producer Mark Howard and within months they were the hottest system builders in the country. Besides the enormous list of pro users that have chosen PCAudioLabs, AMD, Intel and Microsoft have all turned to PCAudioLabs whenever they have audio needs.

In 2007, PCAudioLabs tripled in size, moving into a new location and increasing staff to meet demand. By NAMM 2008, PCAudioLabs was not only the supplier of PC’s for music software giants Steinberg and Cakewalk, but also hardware manufacturers such as Roland, Yamaha and Euphonix.

Although our task is technical, we know our staff needs to be able to relate to you and your situation. That’s why not only are the people who will build your system experts in computing, they are also musicians. In fact, any person you e-mail or speak to at PCAudioLabs makes music, so you’ll never have to worry about asking a musical question and getting a technical response – we speak your language.

Inside this brand-new generation of Rok Box you'll find an Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E processor along with a great Intel DX79TO motherboard.  Kingston has supplied 16GB of DDR3 memory to keep your audio creation rolling even with a ton of applications loaded up.  Storage is powered by a 240GB Intel 510 SSD as well as dual 1TB spinning drives for recording and sampling simultaneously.  ASUS has provided the GTX 560 Ti CUII TOP graphics card and the entire system is powered by an 850 watt Antec High Current Pro power supply.  In total, the system from PCAudioLabs will retail for right around $3,000!!

That isn't all though as PCAudioLabs has included full versions of software required for audio production including Cakewalk Sonar X1 Essential, Native Instruments Komplete Element's, IK Multimedia's Amplitube FREE and much more.  The software alone is valued at more than $600 bringing the total value here to over $3,600!  See the PCAudioLabs website for more details.

I am sure you are interested in the system itself so we have created a short video to go over the hardware as well as the software included in this bundle - check it out!

Without a doubt you are wondering what you have to do to win this system.  The steps are simple:

  1. Visit the PCAudioLabs Facebook page at, "Like" it and leave a comment on the wall if you want as well, thanking them for supporting PC Perspective and the audio creation community.  They are supporting PC Perspective by giving us this system and allowing US to support YOU with the giveaway, so get over here and support THEM!
  2. Leave a comment on this PC Perspective post below (registration is not required, though recommended) telling us and the PCAL crew what you plan to do with this system, how you'll utilize its power in your audio creation projects, etc.  What will the Rok Box improve or make easier for you?
  3. And if you want to follow us for more PC hardware news and upcoming contests you can do so at several locations. and

That's it!  Our sweepstakes will run between today at end at 12:01am EST on March the 6th.  If you don't have your entry in by then, you are out of luck.  We will pick a random winner from the comments and ship the system out that week in March.  You are responsible for any taxes / tariffs but we'll cover the shipping to anywhere in the world.

A HUGE thanks goes out to our friends at PCAudioLabs and Intel for making this possible and we hope you all appreciate the work that goes into putting something like this on.  Also, thanks goes to Antec, ASUS and Kingston for their support as well.

Good luck to everyone and happy audio editing!!

I would use the computer for the sole purpose of which it was created, to make music of course! :D
I've become rather interested in starting to create dubstep and other kinds of music, and this piece of glory here would really help me with that. My old comp is 5 years old and it can't handle the newer stuff of todays software.
I'd really appreciate if i got this computer, it would mean the world to me :D

This is a very impressive system! It would be perfect for running multiple screens of Sibelius as I write the drumline scores for the schools I teach at. It would also be wonderfully powerful for gaming, and could run my engineering software flawlessly. I absolutely would love to win it. Thank you PC Perspective and PCAudioLabs for the opportunity.

First of all I'd really like to thank everyone here at PC Perspective and PCAudiLabs for having this giveaway. I myself would love to win this (obviously) becouse I'm on a really old computer and cant afford any fancy new computer like this one becouse I'm currently studying. Audio editing and creating has always been a big part of my life, I play drums piano and the guitar. I only started a few years back with basic editing nothing too hard but now i just feel that I've grown past that and the only thing keeping me back is my equipment. So I'd really like a chanse to win this :) Thanks again, have a fun contest.

I've had this computer for a long time and making new beats in it really takes forever! With this new system and software it would be a lot faster :D I want it so bad :)))

I'd love to have a dedicated machine for my audio/video work especially with so much power instead of doing everything (software/web development, office usage, communications, etc) on my current underpowered (Phenom 9500 x4) system using only free or open source software. The professional software alone would make the process so much easier.

As a Video Game designer who is getting into dabbling with Audio editing and voice recording, I'm sure this would be an immeasurably useful tool in my career field. I'd use it for high-quality editing and professional work.

Awesome rig. I'd be amazing to get rid of my old machine with parts that date back to 2006! Damn. Either way, good luck to everyone! :)

Sounds good enough for gaming :P

I would use this computer to take over the world..... ok maybe just play tons of steam games, use it for home work, edit movies and brag to my family that i have the coolest computer in the world.

Thanks for the great contest.

Great contest with a solid system to boot! I am a freelance system builder who has fallen on hard times, and my girlfriend has been dying to get her computer modernized so she can get back into not only gaming, but back into music editing. Sadly, money is too tight to get her what she needs to get the job done the right way. A system like this would mean the world to me to be able to help her do something she loves again and keep the system relevant for years to come!

This setup would be a HUGE upgrade from where I'm at now. Processing power alone would cut a ton of time that's being wasted, not to mention much better software than I'm on now.

February 21, 2012 | 01:57 PM - Posted by Cliff (not verified)

This would be a huge upgrade for me that would help greatly with my audio, video, and photo editing.

The desktop that you are offering is a proffesionally built computer made for audio creating and audio editing.
If you give this to me I can consider going into a career of audio creating or audio editing.
To be honest I never created or edited any kind of audio.
Except trying Virtual DJ.
Have a good afternoon and we will see how this goes.

everything sounds sweeter with PCAudioLabs

February 21, 2012 | 02:00 PM - Posted by Tym' (not verified)

I can't even imagine everything I'll be able to do with so much power ! I could play, I could work on audio and video projects at the same time... Awesome, isn't it ?
Every single stuff needed to be able to produce something costs so much... Having this in my studio would really really nice, so I could spend my money in buying other stuff to build my own professional studio :)

Well with this computer, I hope to get into the whole youtube thing like doing commentaries and stuff. Above all this computer would save me alot of cash.

Thanks PCPerspective and PCaudiolabs for doing this

Thank you guys for doing this awesome contest! I've been needing a new computer to get back into production. I was producing with Cubase SX and Reason many years back (with reason 1.0-3.0) and had made tons of drum n bass tracks and house tracks for local dj's in my area (in North Florida). I met the right/wrong girl haha and ended up stopping all my musical interests. Now that she's gone (and after I sold everything off) I'm trying to get back into it all and something like this would really step it up for me. I still have my axiom keyboard so I'm good with controllers, but this computer would be the best DAW I can imagine. Thank you again for offering this in a contest! You guys are amazing.

I will definitely utilize this rig in order to make astonishing music for feature films and private projects in order to impress my friends. It will also be used heavily for VFX and 3D animation/modeling and gaming :p

could really use this upgrade for school, music and gaming

I need to update my aging computer and one with this much power would be able to fuel my passion for audio engineering.

I would use it to help my friend that owns a small studio but doesn't have the money to upgrade his computer so the whole process is slow, might even join him to help

Winning this PC would be insane because it would allow me to move my current PC out and make it into a local server, thus letting me make this into a Studio PC for video / audio editing. Being a new father, it's hard for me to justify spending on something so powerful.

Looks awesome could really mix some nice tracks!

Ill finally change my old pc which makes his last breath. Will renders some graphics much faster that whole night and try to make some good sounds. GL to everyone in this contest. <3
