HP 2511x 25" 1080p LED-backlit LCD @ $200

At $200 the HP 2511x display is a little more affordable than yesterdays, but at the same time is smaller and a lower resolution.  With a 5ms response time it will provide a decent gaming experience as TN displays tend to be quicker than their IPS counterparts.  The display is incredibly thin which makes it attractive for surround setups but there is no sign of a VESA mount if you had planned on mounting your monitors.

I picked up one of the $79 1080p IPS displays from NewEgg a couple of weeks back, so I'm all monitored out.

There is a Acer 27inch with better specs on Newegg for the same price. The big complaint was the HDMI sticking out 90degrees. This HP does the same thing. This makes flush mounting impossible plus it pulls more on the connectors depending on how much wire you have hanging.

I'm no a huge fan of Acer but for about $20 more you can go with Asus.

In short don't jump at bogus marking scams like $100 off a imaginary price.

I propose that anything which is only 1080 pixels high should never be called a "monitor". Anything that is 1080 pixels must be called a television, because that's the only time such a shallow height would ever be tolerable.
