Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are putting on a show in Santa Monica to start off E3.  ExtremeTech was there, and caught it all from Microsoft’s Peter Moore trying out a game of Rock Band, to Nintendo’s Wii Zapper and Sega’s upcoming games.
“Each year, E3 begins with a trio of press conferences from the “big three” console manufacturers. In the old days, this meant Sega, Sony, and Nintendo. Now Sega has bowed out of the hardware race and Microsoft has taken their place, but the intent is the same as it ever was: wow the audience with all the hot games and features coming in the coming year.

As I write this, the last of the conferences (Sony) has just ended, and it’s a good time to go back and reflect on what each of them had to show and how they presented their platforms. Not everyone hit a home run with their E3 conferences, so read on to find out who cleared the fences, and who missed the ball.”
