Caspian Servers Now Open To Public In Battlefield 3 Beta

The Battlefield 3 open beta is almost over; however, the full experience of a 64 player map with vehicles has not been accessible to the general public.  Until now, that is.  EA has announced that the once password protected Caspian map will be available this weekend to stress test the servers.  To give you an idea of the map, PC Perspective was able to get onto one of the Caspian servers during our live stream.

The EA representative noted that the beta may be prone to crashes and network issues, and that they are (likely) not indicative of the final product.  They are currently experiencing a bug where users may be kicked from the server with a message indicating it was due to an administrator's actions.  The representative noted that the message does not mean that the user was kicked by an administrator but rather was due to being dropped from the server (due to network issues).  Starting Friday afternoon, PC players will be able to log onto the Caspian maps, which will be available until the end of the beta on Monday, October 10th.

Have you tried out the Caspian Battlefield 3 beta map yet?

I love conquest and hate rush. Other than lag it looks like a great game. I probably won;t be playing in anything more than a 32 player match. If the rumors are correct and it does come to steam I'll buy BF3.

I'm with you there man, I'm not likely to buy BF3 unless it comes to steam. Origin and the web browser start up is kind of a pain in the ass, especially when it gives me grief over my password having special characters and being too secure :P

Agreed. Origin is just a hassle. Why would a game have to reload every time I want to join a server? And why load from a website. Ugh.

Will they be adding mouse3 support? (Which makes me wonder how much of this is not just another "port".)

LoL.

Does it support, or will it support flight control systems?

caspian border map was way too small for jets for one. jets also flew slow. something tells me the big maps wont be bf2 big.
there was no options to adjust sensitivity for any vehicle.
voip didn't work not unlike bfbc2.
all this might be included later in the *retail beta*.
meaning features they implemented never get fixed or refined to retail.
I kinda feel underwhelmed i wanted an evolution in game play not just graphics and some phyx.

I tried to talk to patrick liu on his twitter page about all the complaints about the web browser integration, but he wasn't having any of it.
