The AMD Radeon R7 250X has been mentioned on a few different websites over the last day, one of which was tweeted by AMD Radeon Italia. The SKU, which bridges the gap between the R7 250 and the R7 260, is expected to have a graphics processor with 640 Stream Processors, 40 TMUs, and 16 ROPs. It should be a fairly silent launch, with 1GB and 2GB versions appearing soon for an expected price of around 90 Euros, including VAT.

The GPU is expected to be based on the 28nm Oland chip design.

While it may seem like a short, twenty Euro jump from the R7 250 to the R7 260, the single-precision FLOP performance actually doubles from around 800 GFLOPs to around 1550 GFLOPs. If that metric is indicative of overall performance, there is quite a large gap to place a product within.

We still do not know official availability, yet.

Could see cards like this becoming more popular for streaming over steamOS, though I'd love to see more support for low-profile cards. Seems like something manufacturers could benefit from in these times.

The 250>260 is a huge leap, like DOUBLE.
Finally a in between sweetspot!

R7 250 should have been R7 240X. Now what name are they going to give to the 512 shaders model?
But R7 250 of course looking at their site where in R7 250's specifications it says
"Up to 384-512" shaders. A TOTAL MESS.

They also must drop the prices for R7 240 and R7 250. You can't have a 640 shaders card so close with a 384 shaders card.

And one message to AMD

FOR GOD'S SHAKE AMD FIX THE FU^%&%^&& PAGE ON YOUR SITE.

Will this work with and have any improvement in a KAveri 7850 Dual Graphics setup? I just bought a regular 250 a few weeks ago.

You have a 250 and a 7850? Then you are done. You made your choice, forget about anything less than a 270.
