November 30, 2005 – Austin, TX. – AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced that it has donated $100,000 to the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas (BNC) for the Best Single Source (BSS) project, an alliance of non-profit agencies pooling resources and information to provide a comprehensive solution to meet the basic needs of individual clients. These funds will enable the coalition to continue helping the large number of evacuees of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita rebuild their lives in Austin without abandoning existing clients by providing additional assistance for food, housing stability, utilities and direct case management.

“Because Red Cross and FEMA assistance is temporary, local agencies that are already strapped for funds are being challenged to support evacuees who need long-term assistance to help them get back on their feet again. AMD’s generous donation makes it possible for us to continue support long after these funds are depleted,” said Susan Eason, executive director of the Arc of the Capital Area and the current chair of the Basic Needs Coalition. “AMD’s commitment of technology, volunteers and financial donations through the years has been a critical component in BNC accomplishing our mission.”
