If you have been following the site at all this year, you’ll have noticed that since the last day in January, my name has not been attached to any articles. My sincere thanks go to Jon and Lee for keeping some fresh content on PC Perspective. Of course, this is not to say I haven’t been working at all in these past two weeks, just that it isn’t “overt” work that I am doing. The grunt work that needs doing is getting done, and thanks to Joe, very soon we should have that new design I promised a couple months back. I am really looking forward to it.

Compared to 60 days ago, the hardware front is pretty quiet right now. Though Intel has a processor launch tomorrow night, there isn’t too much exciting going for the immediate future. There was a time in November and December where NVIDIA and ATI had me scrambling every day to find enough time to test and write on all the hardware they were throwing on to the market. Of course, whether than product actually made into anyone’s hands is another story…

For me personally, I have been exteremely busy in the world of searching for future housing. It looks like this summer I will be moving away from Lexington, where I have been for 5 years, and heading back up to Northern KY, where I grew up for 18 years. Lexington has a been a great town and it has been fun during school, but as nearly all of my friends from college have left or are leaving after this May, I have found no reason to stay here. My family and the friends that I still have from NoKY are still around in Florence, so it just seems natural that I head back in that direction. And it seems like it will be at least a semi-permanent move, I am taking to time to look into buying a house instead of renting. And THAT is where all the headaches come up! In fact, I blame this house search for the other half of my delay in working on PCP this month. But it is something that only needs to be done once, so I have to do it right.

I already mentioned the upcoming Intel processor release review, but I have some other things brewing here as well. SiS has sent over a couple of new chipsets, one for AMD and one for P4, which should add an interesting mix to the current line up from VIA, NVIDIA and Intel. I have several motherboard to review, including two from DFI based on the nForce4 chipset as well as some dual Opteron testing to get too!

I’ll let you all know when I have something more on the house hunt, as well as anything exciting about the hardware world. Thanks for reading PC Perspective!
