As you can no doubt tell, PC Perspective got a HUGE and much needed facelift recently to what we are internally calling "PC Perspective v4.0".  I know there are still some kinks to work out and we are actively addressing any feedback from our readers in this comment thread.

But we want to celebrate the launch of the new site in style!!  Some of our site sponsors have very generously offered up some prizes for us to give out throughout the coming days...

The ninth (!!) prize is a set of Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 2.1 Speakers!!

What do you have to do to win this wonderful piece of hardware?

Couldn't be easier: post a comment in this post thanking Corsair for its sponsorship of PC Perspective as well as an interesting feature or addition you would like to see in future speaker sets.  Be creative! You should probably have a registered account or at least be sure you include your email address in the appropriate field so we can contact you!

Thanks Corsair for sponsoring PC Perspective. What i would like to see in future speakers is well ... led lights like the cases we get. Of course even better sound quality than what already is available is always appreciated

May 2, 2011 | 02:14 PM - Posted by Grunteh

Thanks, Corsair for the sponsorship! In the future I would like to see more controls over the speakers themselves, such as better bass controls.

May 2, 2011 | 02:16 PM - Posted by klatch

Awesome Corsair - thanks.

Feature requests: 1) As bizzare as it may seem of a feature, and I haven't fully thought this through, I'd suggest something like having the speakers be able to mute themselves after a certain amount of inactivity at certain hours. The goal would be for me to not be woken up by msn messenger or skype if I forgot to mute the speakers myself and i left the computer on. 2) headphone jack on the front of a speaker - my wife and I share an office at home and at times I need headphones so as not to distract her.

May 2, 2011 | 02:24 PM - Posted by vanster

Thanks Corsair for sponsoring. I would love a way to adjust the subwoofer volume sperately from the other speakers, subwoofers just create to much "thump" for neighboors but i still want to turn up the other speakers. Longer cables.

May 2, 2011 | 02:26 PM - Posted by Dreadteir

Thank you very much to Corsair for supporting PC Perspective.

In future speaker sets for gamers I would like to see a system that can be expanded to 5.1 or 7.1!

This is awesome. More speakers from Corsair. You guys rock thanks. What I would really like to see is better integrated bass so as to not have the huge sub or maybe a supplemental sub that is not so big.

Thanks for supporting PCPer Corsair. They look like a really nice set. As for features that might be nice to see included in a future speaker set, the only thing I can think of is to change the wired controller to a wireless controller.

Thanks corsair! Finally making the rest of the pc speaker market go, "whoa! we gotta get our act back together!" What i'd like to see is a bigger badder setup from corsair with dual 4in cones per satellite and 10in sub powered by a 200watt amplifier. A clean...efficient one of course.

Thanks Corsair for sponsoring PC Perspective. I think an interesting feature for future speaker sets would be a foot massager integrated to the top of the subwoofer.

Are winners for these contests announced anywhere, or is it all secret?

May 2, 2011 | 04:42 PM - Posted by Rob Sullivan (not verified)

I love Corsair products and I have no doubt this one is also awesome.

Not sure what to suggest feature wise... perhaps it would be cool if there was a mechanism to expand this 2.1 system to a 5 with a simple add on package. Would be a cool upgrade path.

Thank the lord that corsair cares about non headphones, non 7.1 audio. 2.1 is good enough for my setup and if it gives exceptional sound quality all the better.

May 2, 2011 | 05:23 PM - Posted by echomike

Thanks Corsair for sponsoring the ever-awesome PCPer, wouldn't mind pairing my PSUs and RAM with matching speakers! :)

As far as suggestions go, stereo (or 2.1) is the sweet spot for 95% of computer connected setups out there. A very nice active pair could be a good idea.

May 2, 2011 | 05:24 PM - Posted by Justin Newton (not verified)

thanks corsair!

i'd love to see a high end speaker system like this, in a 5.1 version. a cool feature could be USB so the DAC could be on board. with the selection of quality sound cards for we audio enthusiasts shrinking a well built, quality minded all in one system would be appealing.

May 2, 2011 | 06:38 PM - Posted by Sihastru

Thank you Corsair for sponsoring PCPer and for another great competition prize! I want it.

What I would like in some future speaker set:

- 2.1 with digital input
- wooden cabinets with a classic and understated design (the classic box with full front mesh, metal is fine but textile is better for sound)
- an integrated MP3 player (+other audio formats, FLAC comes to mind), with USB host capability (or LAN :P)
- a wireless remote control, you can move the LCD screen on the subwoofer
- an even lower end response frequency, 35Hz is OK, but 25-30 would be divine (at least a 10" driver, preferably 12")
- it doesn't need to be a gazillion Watts, 200-300W total is fine

May 2, 2011 | 08:14 PM - Posted by RickJ5 (not verified)

Thank you Corsair for sponsoring PC Perspective. I have to say that Corsair is probably the best company I have ever dealt with as far as customer service. I had a 1 GB set of 3200XL memory go out and they no longer had the exact memory available to replace it. They ended up sending me 2 GB of DDR 2 Dominator memory to replace it. Now, that's what I call customer service! PC Perspective couldn't be sponsored by a better company as far as I'm concerned. Thinking about features I'd like to see for speaker systems two things came to mind. One feature I'd like is to maybe have a wireless controller for the speaker system. The volume control for my main system falls off the edge of the table I have it on every once in a while, because of where I have to lay it due to the cord length. The other is the volume control is a little scratchy when I move it, likely due to some corrosion on the contacts. Moving it back and forth quickly hasn't seemed to get rid of the corrosion. I'd like to see something to help stop that problem from occurring. But, with also keeping the volume control separate for the one and off switch so I don't have to adjust the volume when I turn the speakers on.

Thanks again Corsair

For the future - speakers with lasers in their cones :P

May 2, 2011 | 08:26 PM - Posted by niblifar

Thank you Corsair for sponsoring PC Perspective.

I like the idea of a wireless control for the speaker set instead of having it on one of the speakers or tied to a wire.

Corsair! I love you! Have my babies! And thank you for sponsoring PC Per.

What would I like to see as a feature in a speaker set? Maybe 3.1 (with a center channel that's not just a subwoofer). Get a little more of the immersion going on.

May 2, 2011 | 10:49 PM - Posted by m.maric23

Corsair you guys are awesome, ive already started the Corsair takeover on my computer; ram, ssd, and cooler, looking for some audio to go with it ;) .. as for you guys at PC-Per id say you've done an amazing job on the new site (huge improvment from the previous), i would like to see a couple of small changes however for one, im a huge fan of tabbing everything i want to read so i can look at it later as i brouse the site however some of your links you cannot "open in a tab" but rather makes you click on the link and transfers you on the page (all your top tabs are done like that, along with your '5 story news/review flash image thing" haha sorry dont know what its called. Secondly i think you should make your stories slightly more compact (perhaps more landscaped as im assuming most people are looking at your site on a widescreen, unless your using it on your mobile), it makes looking for stories that much easier to see, and you can look through them faster to find the ones that intrigue you the most. Techspot.com has layed out articles beautifuly i think, a great title and a small picture can sell it all.
Keep up the good work though!

May 2, 2011 | 10:56 PM - Posted by persentio

Thank you Corsair for your support of PC Perspective!! Huge kudos for awesome products and awesome support!!

An extra feature I would possibly like to see is the inclusion of perhaps a room correction system; as exemplified by the IK Multimedia ARC: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/arc/features/ Speaker quality is indeed paramount to great quality audio; but many a times people forget that the size and shape of one's room / environment CAN also drastically alter acoustics and hence audio quality! Corsair will definitely take the high-end PC audio world by storm if it came up with a similar solution!!

An extra addition I would like to see in Corsair's speaker lineup would definitely be 2.0 speakers. Give the Audioengine A5s a run for their money Corsair!!

May 2, 2011 | 10:58 PM - Posted by Matt (not verified)

New speakers would be a welcome addition to my new rig. Thanks Corsair for helping to sponsor the "Greatest Site on the Net"...

Ryan, you need to use the new song that was composed a couple of weeks ago for the new theme for the podcast.

Keep up the great work.

May 2, 2011 | 11:23 PM - Posted by elgrandeburro

Many thanks Corsair for supporting PC Perspective!

Not sure if this exists already or not, but what about a lower power mode, when no sound is being generated for a specific period of time? Would dig keeping my power bills as low as possible.

Corsair, more reliable than Sony's security

May 3, 2011 | 01:00 AM - Posted by nicotinic

Let me start by thanking Corsair for its sponsorship of PC Perspective as well as suggesting an interesting feature or addition I would like to see in future speaker sets. You now what would be cool? An integrated Android based Media Player with a 2.1, 4.1 or even a 5.1 setup. It could double as a controller for the "Media Station" whilst also being portable(read: detachable) mini tablet. It would preferably have a 5 inch screen with medium specs to keep the cost down. What do you think? I can dream can't I?

May 3, 2011 | 01:22 AM - Posted by loeakaodas

Thanks Corsair for sponsoring PC Perspective. A great new/interesting feature would be a wireless (RF) remote or a remote app for Android/iOS to be able to control the volume, etc when you're not at the desk.
