Overall, I’d have to say I walked away unimpressed with the Athlon 64 launch in Taipei at Computex. The speakers didn’t have much to say and much of it was in Chinese, but I guess that just makes me biased. Oh well.

These two shots include some information about Microsoft’s AMD64 enabled version of Windows XP. The beta is currently available and they are claiming it will be completed inside Q1 of 2004.
Of course to go along with the announcements, AMD had some demonstrations and systems being shown including these laptops.

And here is a system from Packard Bell, who hasn’t sold PCs in the US for quite some time, with an implemented Athlon 64 system already ready for distribution.
