Tablets won't kill the desktop, but what about notebooks?

The plural of anecdote is not data but The Tech Report does make some good points about how the tablet may push the notebook out of the market, or at least reduce its market share significantly. Unless you are buying a gaming laptop, in its self a niche market, there are many qualities about tablets that make them an attractive alternative, ranging from the lack of crumbs accumulating in the keyboard to all day battery life. If you do not game or have programs you use which actually need the processing power of a full x86 processor then you will never even notice the reduction in processing power that comes from moving to an ARM or other low powered processor. There is still no way that it is going to replace desktops whose users actually need real processing power ... or triple monitors.
"Earlier this week, Gartner reported that PC shipments shrank by almost 5% last quarter. The firm pinned the blame on users relinquishing their PCs for daily use. As enthusiasts, we may find it hard to imagine folks ditching their computers for comparatively limited tablets. However, I have some pretty convincing anecdotal evidence that lends weight to Gartner's thesis."

Sensei, what is the secret to being one with your mouse?

The new SteelSeries Sensei mouse sports what OC3D refers to as looking "molten it's so smooth and rounded". Aesthetics wer important in the design of this mouse; while it only has 2 DPI settings it houses an array of LED lights which can glow through the logo and mouse wheel in just about any colour you could want. As well it sports a small LCD screen on the bottom if the mouse which can display which of your programmed profiles are currently active. The two DPI settings can be adjusted, but you can only switch between the two settings you programmed into the mouse using the very well designed driver software. The onboard ARM processor will let you crank it up to 11,400 DPI though, if you want to play by just staring hard at the mouse.

The Boogie Bug Dub Style M will take some careful handling if you wish to keep the mirror-like finish of the aluminium exterior spotless. Doing so will give you a very different looking case from the mainstream as there are not too many choices out there that are this reflective. The exterior styling was obviously the focus for this case, internally it requires a bit more work to install and tidy than some other cases on the market, but eTechnix was up to the challenge.
