Manufacturer: Seasonic

Introduction and Features

2-G-Series-Banner.jpg

Seasonic’s G Series includes four new power supplies ranging in output capacity from 360W up to 650W. The G Series was designed for customers who are building small to mid-size systems and they offer high quality but without all the bells and whistles of Seasonic’s popular Platinum and X Series. The new G Series is available in 360W, 450W, 550W, and 650W models. In comparison to the Seasonic Platinum and X Series, the G Series uses a high quality 120mm Adda fan paired with the S2FC fan control, rather than the super Sanyo Denki SanAce fan and S3FC fan control. The 360W model we are reviewing comes with standard fixed cables while the 450W, 550W and 650W models come with a hybrid combination of fixed and modular cables. All power supplies in the G Series are 80 Plus Gold certified and backed by Seasonic’s 5-year warranty.

Seasonic's new X-1250 provides pure power satisfaction

Seasonic's new X-1250 PSU can provide 1250W of power, just as the name suggests, with up to 104 amps to the 12V rail which should provide enough power for even the most power hungry GPUs.  Instead of going with a single rail design Seasonic chose to provide 4 rails so you should ensure to know which plugs you are using.  It passed all of [H]ard|OCP's torture tests with flying colours, making it one of the better kilowatt ckas PSUs they have had the pleasure of testing and when you consider the price, with or without the rebate, it is a perfect choice for users building a system with multiple GPUs.

"Seasonic makes some of the best enthusiast computer power supplies in the world. It has long produced some of the cleanest power producing PSUs along with being some of the quietest on the market. The new fully modular X-1250 sports many enthusiast features and touts gold level efficiency. Is this new X-1250 worthy?"

Little machines need little PSUs; Seasonic's new TFX PSU

The PSU that you have come to know in your desktop is an ATX PSU but that is not the only choice, as server techs and SFF builders are well aware.  One of the alternative standards is the TFX which retains the ATX electrical and connection specs but fits it into a 5.75" × 3.25" × 2.5" (146 x 83 x 64mm) casing.  The 350W Seasonic SS-350TGM is not designed for SLI/CrossFire systems, indeed it does not have a single PCIe connector of any type which is not a problem for the type of machine this is intended for.  If you are planning on building an ITX box with an internal PSU, or even a small custom built case, you really should drop by [H]ard|OCP to check this little PSU out.

"Today we tackle something a bit off the beaten path for us; a low power non-ATX specification power supply from Seasonic. We do know that many of our readers build systems that are not like all the others especially when it comes to crafting smaller purpose driven boxes. The 300TGM may be just what you are looking for."

1000W of silent power from Seasonic

Subject: Cases and Cooling | November 7, 2011 - 01:24 PM |
Tagged: seasonic, Platinum-1000, modular psu, kilowatt, 80 platinum

[H]ard|OCP got their hands on a very impressive kilowatt class PSU from Seasonic, the Platinum-1000.  In their testing it did come incredibly close to the results at 80Plus, backing up the claim that this PSU deserves 80+ Platinum.  As well, the hybrid fan design ensures near silent performance though [H] were hard pressed to hear the unit even when the fan was running full blast.  The power provided was rock solid with barely a trace of ripple or noise on the lines.  By the end [H] decrees that "The Seasonic Platinum-1000 is quite literally THE power supply on the market today.

"Seasonic breaks the Platinum efficiency barrier with its new 1 kilowatt computer power supply. We generally know if it has Seasonic branding, it is a good PSU. But we all want to know if it is a great PSU. We all know that Seasonic means "quiet" as well and believe it or not this PSU can be dead silent."
