Enermax hits 1350W and gets rated Platinum as well

If the 1500W EVGA SuperNova PSU that Lee recently reviewed was a little too much for you then how about the Platimax 1350W from Enermax?  It sports six 12V rails, two at 20A and the remaining at 30A, a mere eight 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors and 14 SATA power connectors. This PSU is the highest rated 80 Plus Platinum PSU [H]ard|OCP has seen, as well as the highest from Enermax and they were not disappointed.  While it shared its design with the MaxRevo 1500W which left [H] a little disappointed, the Enermax implementation was superior and this PSU walked away with an Editor's Choice.

Need to power an EVGA Classified SR-X LGA2011 based system? Try EVGA's 1500W PSU

EVGA's SuperNOVA NEX1500 Classified 1500W PSU is more than just a source of power that would satisfy even a certain stand up comedian turned TV star, it also features some rather interesting extras.  Some of the features bear a resemblance to those found on the Corsair AX1200i Digital ATX 1200W which Lee reviewed a short while ago, like programmable rails and software which allows monitoring and control of certain aspects of the PSU.  While the 10 year warranty is a good sign, TechPowerUp! found a few questionable results from the tests they ran.

Slay the cable kraken? Corsair's oddly advertised HX850

We have seen a wireless streaming graphics card which reminded the crew at PC Perspective of Cthulu, but we have not yet released the Kraken.  That was up to Corsair and their HX850 PSU which [H]ard|OCP recently reviewed.  A single 12V rail is capable of delivering up to 70 amps which is a good thing on a PSU with six 6+2 PCIe power connectors but it still wasn't enough to really impress [H].  This PSU has essentially been released to refresh their current model and while it does match the performance of the previous model it does not really improve upon it.  This is what lead to [H]'s disappointment, the PSU passes the tests but has not really improved from the model Corsair was selling years ago.  Still it is a decent choice for a system builder who plans on using multiple GPUs.

The pensive supply unit decides if it will give you power ... and tells you about it

The reason that Corsair's new Professional Series AX1200i is called a digital power supply is due to the presence of a digital signal processor inside the PSU.  The advantages are likely to due with the reduced complexity of the internal design than due to the DSP being a miracle, however there is more to it than just smooth voltages.  With the USB Corsair Link interface you can use the bundled software to monitor the three main voltage rails, the 24-pin connector's 12V line, the AC voltage at the wall socket and there are current trackers for all of the PCIe power connectors as well.  If you obsess over power management and happen to need more than a kilowatt of power, check out Corsair's latest offering at The Tech Report.

XFX's pricey Platinum ProSeries PSU performs perfectly

With a half dozen modified 8-pin PCI-Express connectors, 8 Molex connectors, and 11 SATA connectors the XFX ProSeries 1000W PSU will handle the needs of a powerful system.  The interior components are very similar to the Seasonic Platinum 1000W which is one of [H]ard|OCP's favourites.  As with the Seasonic, the XFX PSU carries an 80 Plus Platinum rating which testing proved to be essentially accurate as [H] was not going to quibble about a 0.6% difference on their review model.  You have to pay a bit more for this PSU but if you want to pick up a model that won [H]'s Editor's Choice and Gold Award then this PSU is a sure bet.

Corsair Enhances GS Series Power Supplies

GS Series power supplies are designed for PC builders who want an affordable, reliable, and efficient power supply that offers visually stunning, customizable looks to match their PC. FSP goes for Gold with their 1200W Aurum PSU

As the name implies, the FSP AURUM PRO GOLD 1200 PSU's efficiency is rated 80 Plus Gold and is capable of an impressive 100A on its single 12V rail.  [H]ard|OCP was glad to see that FSP has increased the quality of materials they use in constructing the PSU.  This has paid off as the PSU received a Silver Award after passing their torture tests.

Can CoolerMaster actually provide 1300W of Silent power

It seems hard to imagine that a PSU that provides more than a kilowatt of power can be considered quiet but Cooler Master goes even further with their Silent Pro Hybrid 1300 Watt PSU.  Rated for 80 Plus Gold and able to provide 1260W @ 105A on its single 12V rail this beast of a PSU and its eight 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors should be able to power any graphics system you might want to dream of setting up.  Part of the Silent comes from a unique fanless mode, when load is under 200 watts and the temperature below 25C the fan powers off.  The other modes are manual and auto, which anyone with a recent video card will be familiar with.  From the 5 year warranty to the solid power that this PSU provides, Hi Tech Legion found a lot of things to like about this premium PSU.

(80+) Gold Plated PSU roundup

X-bit Labs assembled a wide variety of PSUs which all share one characteristic for a round up.  From the lowest powered 600W to the over the top 1050W model, these PSUs all have an 80 Plus Gold rating.  You have probably seen the Seasonic, OCZ and CoolerMaster PSUs around before but the Cougar models are a little less common.  All but the Seasonic model generated positive reviews, the problem with the Seasonic model being its price; it costs more than the others but does not offer extras to justify that heightened price point.  The 600W PSUs are definitely recommended as many mid-range PSUs do not sport the 80 Plus Gold rating.  Read on to see how stable the power they provide is.

Enermax doesn't feel the need to brag about the efficiency of the new Revolution87

The Enermax Revolution87+ 1000W PSU can distribute almost its entire peak capability across its four 12V rails at a maximum of 83A.  After their testing [H]ard|OCP proclaimed that this is another step forward in PSU design for Enermax, retaining solid construction and power generation needed by users as well as increasing efficiency and lowering noise.  Perhaps the most laudable thing Enermax did with this unit was to market it as 80+ Gold even though it actually meets Platinum standards.  That is the opposite of most PSU marketers whose PSUs tend to barely meet the claimed efficiency or to not meet it at all when tested by reviewers.
