That's right, those insanely beautiful bastards over at Coffee Stain Studios did it again, Goat Simulator: Waste of Space will be arriving tomorrow on Steam as DLC, likely at the $5.00 price point the previous GoatZ and Payday DLCs sold for.  It features a lightsabre so impressive it will throw Kylo into a sulk, romance plot lines that put Mass Effect to shame, facehugger spitting goats and plenty of self referential humour as well.  The trailer is below and you can read a bit more over at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN.

You are a goat too!

"Then there’s the faux-Schwarzenegger narrator. “Listen to me, you bastards,” he demands. “You will stop at absolutely nothing to make the galaxy great again.” Which evidently involves licking a crew member’s face who has cherry-topped cream cakes covering their nipples."

Coffee Stain Studios is at it again with another update to Goat Simulator, this time themed after the Payday series of games.  Four goats, Valentino "The Flamingo" Salami, Dolph "The Dolphin" Spaghetti, Humphrey "The Camel" Ciabatta and Don "The Enforcer" Pastrami will hit the streets and start carjacking, water spitting, collecting masks and just generally wreaking chaos upon an unsuspecting world.  The addin will be released tomorrow and if it is like GoatZ it will cost you a couple of bucks for a lot of entertainment.  Watch the video below or just head over to the official site for a look at flying cars and the Goat Squad in action.

"Use your goat crew to smash & grab, then blast away all your money at Mahatma Gambling and the Indian casino just like in that Al Cappuccino movie"

Baaaaa! Why so serious?

It seems that gaming has become a lot less about having a good time over the past few years.  An entire branch of gaming expects you to run a treadmill of low level quests before you get to the point where you can actually start exploring and many people will not even pick up a game if they can't get achievements for simply playing something that they should be able to enjoy for the simple sake of playing.

It is more than that however, we have progressed from teabagging and hurling vulgarities at any and all players, be they friendlies or enemies, to having a subgroup of gamers actively insulting so called 'casual gamers' and 'fake gamer girls' in social media and other public forums.  Somehow the idea that gaming is enjoyable because it is a game has been overwhelmed by those who find their fun in deriding other players.

Perhaps this is why Coffee Stain Studio's Goat Simulator has caused such a divide of opinions in gamers; those who can see the fun of wandering around smashing things and generally being silly love it. Those with a need to either prove themselves better than everyone, or at least that everyone is worse than they are can't grasp the idea of purely enjoying a game because it is simply amusing in and of itself.

For those still able to enjoy pure silliness you should read through the full patch notes of Goat Simulator 1.1 on Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN; the addition of a new map and split screen multiplayer has nothing on the notes involving Flappy Goat, the "Applying plastic wrap around your screen will now give you a 3D-effect." or Minecraft goat.  If you have even a tiny bit of a sense of humour left you should also watch the accompanying trailer.

If you want to play with the Fragging Frogs, the most fun frog-based gaming community around, you had best practice having fun. For those of you who never lost that playful spirit, come on it and join in the fun!

"Goat Simulator really is just the dumbest thing, isn’t it? Naturally, that’s why everyone in the whole world loves it and I have a pet goat now. I was surprised (and let’s face it: a bit saddened) to find that real goats have functional neck bones and lack tongues that stretch like elastic and stick like gorilla glue, but them’s the breaks. Related: do not hurl real goats into traffic. They will break. That got a bit dark there, didn’t it? But you know what’s not dark?"

It's true! You can now unleash your inner billy goat

For $10 you can pre-order Goat Simulator on Steam as it has gone from a wacky physics engine demonstration to a real ... goat simulator.  They've even added a brand new feature to the tongue we saw sticking out of the goats mouth in the original video.  If you lick something it will stick to your tongue, which was put to the obvious use of chasing humans around while wielding an axe.  We can only hope that there will be a Troll Bridge add-on in the near future; how can you not buy this?

"Hmm, I worry that it’s ever so slightly less entertaining now it’s a real thing with a pricetag, as opposed to an out-of-nowhere joke. Now it’s got the Snakes On A Plane problem – it has to live up to its concept. Still, we (including I) asked for it, so down Goat Simulator’s rabbit hole we must go."
