The upper echelon of the Seasonic X-Series, 850W of solid power

One drawback to impressing [H]ard|OCP with the quality of one of your PSUs is that the bar is now set that much higher for the next model they review. Seasonic is one such company that has a great reputation that they have to live up to with their new X-850 PSU. The half dozen PCIe 6+2 power plugs are a good start, as is being able to provide up to 99% of total power to the four 12V rails and the fully modular cabling is always appreciated. The real question is how it fared on the test bench, so go find out if it just makes it or if it passes the torture test with flying colours.
Seasonic is a long time favorite of HardOCP editors as you will find a Seasonic PSU in many builds we have done over the years. Today Seasonic pushes its X-Series forward just a bit more building its first gold efficiency rated fully modular enthusiast power supply. But will it blend?"

Silver Power have been making PSUs for quite a while, though they've not received much press lately which changes with their new SP-850M PSU. Their simian logo is all over this semi-modular power supply, which has four 6+2 PCIe power connectors for multiple GPU rigs as well as a nice selection of SATA power. OC3D was nicely surprised by the efficiency of the PSU, while rated for 80 Plus Bronze their testing showed results more appropriate for an 80+ Gold rated PSU. OC3D are not fans of the silverback, but love the actual PSU once they realized they could run it at 983W all day long.
"It's been a few years since the angry ape first made its debut on OC3D, now it's finally back for some second helpings."

Enermax extends their low cost PSU line with the LEPA 850W

The LEPA B850 is a little odd when you look at it behind the scenes, as it is a low cost Enermax PSU but it is made by Sirfa. That kind of inbreeding is not exceptional when it comes to PSUs but is sometimes worth noting. It sports an 80+ Bronze rating and its four 12V rails are split between a pair of 20A and a pair of 30A rails which makes it worth your while to determine which plugs are feeding your GPU. It passed the [H]ard|OCP torture tests which qualify it as a decent PSU but [H] had several caveats about purchasing this PSU. First is the warranty which might be between 3 and 5 years or maybe 2 years, it is hard to tell from the documentation. Second was the value as Enermax already has the NAXN line which is comparable to LEPA and that competitors like XFX and Corsair offer products that are at least as good and cost less than this LEPA unit.
"For those of you that do not know, LEPA is what we would call Enermax' low cost "house brand" of PSU. No, it specifications are not up to those of most worthy Enermax units, but then again, neither is the price. How does LEPA do with its second unit reviewed here at HardOCP?"

A 70A max single 12V rail for the four PCIe connectors is the stat most gamers want to know and the 140mm fan is important to those wanting a peaceful computing session. What was most important to Think Computers about the 850W ZX Series PSU? Read on to find out.
“OCZ has recently released its latest power supply offering in the ZX Series of power supplies. These power supplies effectively replace the Z Series power supplies in the Maximum Performance sector and off an 80 PLUS gold certification, a single +12V rail, modular design and an impressive 5 year warranty. 80 PLUS gold certification means this power supply will run 87% efficient at 100% load. 80 PLUS gold is the second highest certification given to power supplies only out-done by the 80 PLUS Platinum certification.
