Kingwin now offers six new power supply units in their Mach 1 series, ranging in output capacities from 600W all the way up 1,220W.  The ABT-1000MA1S PSU we have up for review comes with a full compliment of modular cables, a 140mm fan, and is certified for high efficiency (80 Plus Bronze) and is nVIDIA SLI Ready.  The Kingwin 1,000W PSU incorporates blue LEDs around all the modular connectors and in the cooling fan along with a black-chrome finish for added visual impact.

PSU Testing Methodology

Establishing an accurate load is critical to testing and evaluating a PC power supply.  PCPerspective’s power supply test bench can place a precise 2,000 watt DC load on the PSU under test.  Each power supply is tested under controlled, real-world conditions up to its maximum rated load, using both 115 VAC and 240 VAC line voltage.  Our current suite of tests includes:

•    Power Factor

•    Differential Temperature
•    Noise


The Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S power supply was evaluated on both features and performance.  A full range of equipment was used to test the power supply under controlled load conditions.

•    Extech MultiMaster MM570 digital multimeter (Accuracy ±0.02%)

•    Powerstat Variable Autotransformer, 1.4 KVA, 0-140 VAC
